11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / MELTING CHANEL NECKLACE- good ol' shrinky!! on: July 05, 2008 12:12:35 PM
Ah, I do like to destroy a corporate symbol... Cheesy
I think this is so fun. I love chanel anyway, so i'll probably wear this all the time.
The shrinky possibilities really are endless aren't they!!!

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ugly sack-like shift dress into fun burlesque-y HEARTBREAKER dress!!! on: July 02, 2008 11:03:48 AM
This is one of my first ever proper clothing projects, so do be niceto me! Cheesy
And excuse my tired-ey face, taken at some ridiculous hour of the morning before college!

I really wish I'd got a before picture of this dress. Basically it was just one of those flat, shapeless shift dresses that I bought from a thrift store for a quid. i just really liked the material. It was also a UK 16, which made it 4 sizes too big for me...

So I went crazy. i cut the thick straps off, and turned the bust line into a sort of heart shape. I put two darts in the front and back by hand sewing to make it fit me nice, then machine sewed the red heart on to the front to correspond with the neckline. Made from some red material from an old dust bag you hold handbags in!

Note im wearing a t shirt under it, merely to protect my modesty before school. I can easily wear it without for a night out though.

Hope you like! Feel free to ask any questions... Cheesy

14  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / macabre black n white skull painting on: June 13, 2008 02:36:18 AM

I painted this onto a small-ish piece of rescued mdf using acrylics. The photograph of the skull is also my own.
Hope you like!

15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / BURLESQUE RED HEART SEQUIN PILL BOX HAT!! on: May 18, 2008 12:50:03 PM
Oh how I love pasties. I love the look of them, the feel of them, damn I even love the monotony of making them! But i cant help thinking that.. hey... when on earth am I gonna wear the damn things?! And its a terrible shame that they only get seen by one or two people.... Wink

So I had a brain wave one day and thought that if i simply scaled one up and made a giant pastie it would make a mighty fine little hat that could be seen by everyone! It may take me hours I thought (yes it took me many hours... the sequins are completely sewn on...but doing it in front of a couple of films made it quite fun) but so worth it at the end to make something original. And the pasties in agent provocateur are 30...

I made this with pretty much exactly 6 metres of shiny red sequins, a square of cherry red felt, matching red thread and a couple of hair clips to keep it on my head. Cost about 3 to make. I challenge you to make one, just mock up a pattern of a circle or heart or star or anything else about 7 times 7 inches and do the pastie making thing of cutting a wedge into the felt to give it a more rounded shape. try the pattern on first to check it sits nice, then go ahead and start sewing from the middle outwards all the sequins!

Ok ill shut up now, can you tell im proud?! Without further ado-

Sitting happily on my medium- sized dog.

18  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Where I hoard all my things- My kitschy, krafty kollections room!! (ha) on: February 26, 2008 01:07:30 PM
What did I do myself in here? my inspiration wall is all print-outs from the net or things I find on my travels. I painted all the walls red minus the one orange wall, pasted up all of the posters and did a MASSIVE clear out so my crafting space looks half reasonable. Basically everything here is stuff I have collected since I was born (all the sesame street represents my early years- ah to be in 1994 again!) Hope you guys like!

Heres my inspiration wall- i just stuck all my pix up in a tile- like effect. Then theres the polaroids on my window frame and some of my crafts on my heater.. sequin pasties make pretty good ornaments!

My sewing machine and knitting wool has a place shock! Cheesy

I spraypainted all those boxes silver for some sort of coordination, before they were all sorts of cartoon monkey weirdness! Middle shelf displays the wonderful plushies ive recieved in swaps and a couple i made myself.. I hope this shelf will continue to grow nicely!

And I hang up some of my favourite clothes and shoes high up like art work so i'll be able to see them and pick them to wear as often as possible!

And just because i love organisation.. this makes me so happy! Cheesy

xxx kisses xxx
19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Get your Biba, B-movie and space girls here!!! on: February 25, 2008 11:53:37 PM
This is my first attempt at shrinky dink necklaces, and frankly i couldnt be happier!

The cat, glasses and bottle of blood come from Goth-icky, the brilliant book of 50's kitschy gore, and the 'poppy' necklace is one of my designs.. my names poppy, and i drum! so there! Grin

Hope you like, and if anyone has any ultra-sneaky clever things they know how to do with shrinkydinks do let me know because im addicted!
