1  Just a little portrait of my lovely boyfriend...! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by carnabystreet on: April 23, 2009 07:46:04 AM
In the style of Man Ray. I also took the photo. This one is done with block paints, the funny powdery ones you can get in schools.

2  Mom's Mothers' Day present from me- WARNING! CUTE ALERT! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by carnabystreet on: March 24, 2009 03:55:07 PM
In the UK Mothering Sunday was 2 days ago. In order to celebrate this fine occasion a little puppy came to visit my mom. His origins are dubious, but if one investigates you might find fabric remnants left in a trail around my bedroom... Smiley

This dog (which my mom ADORED)is made from baby fleece, felt, fluffy filling stuff(!) and nothing else. It's based off the dog pattern in Aranzi Aronzo's 'Fun Dolls' Book, but I had to go one step further and add paws and my own customised face.

As you can see, she's been making quite a scene since she arrived!

Tell me what you think! Smiley

4  Original & Non-Commercial Valentine present for my boyfriend- Me&Him Art Dolls!! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by carnabystreet on: February 12, 2009 03:46:10 PM
This is my first Valentine ever with the person I want to be with for the rest of my life, so this special, silly gift is in celebration of that! Cheesy

I made my boyfriend art dolls that are pretty faithful to what we look like and what we wear (yes, I do frequently wear a leopard print playsuit and he wears 70's jackets with big lapels... Go figure!) They're not finished yet, I've still got to put shoes on, add some little details here and there, neaten them up and package them so they look awesome. Still unsure of how good they look.... Any ideas you guys might have would be greatly appreciated. Matt's a record freak so I thought I might make some mini records/ record player etc to go with the doll like barbie accessories... Smiley

The faces look better in real life

5  70's Shirt pattern + Alexander Henry Fabric = ... in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by carnabystreet on: January 26, 2009 08:31:17 AM
My new eye-boggling dressy shirt! I picked the pattern up in a car boot sale for 1, and found the fabric (which i previously thought I could only get in the US or on the net) in a shop in brighton for 10. I'm super pleased with how this shirt came out, especially as its only the third item of clothing ive made from scratch. It has fun bell sleeves, a sailor-like tie at the front and tight cuffs with four little black buttons. Let me know what you lot think, I love getting opinions! Cheesy

Excuse the battered mannequin... i used it in my art department at college to take photos for my university portfolio...

6  Sailor Jerry Swallow felt badges in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by carnabystreet on: November 11, 2008 08:10:51 AM
I made these a while ago for a swap, and realised i hadnt given them their own place on craftster yet. they took me ages! Smiley

These are just a layering up of three different colours of felt, plus some black embroidery on the wing details and eyes. I had trouble parting with these!

Check out the cheesy commentary on their diplay card too...  Roll Eyes

Those of you unfamiliar with the band associates (probably all of you Cheesy) may not appreciate the full greatness of this doll.... but look how well made he is!

9  Re: Once You Pop Swap Rd8 - HALLOWEEN GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by carnabystreet on: October 07, 2008 04:57:11 AM
Got an AMAZING can from drinkdrank drunk today!! She KNOWS how much i love it thanks to my gushing personal messages, so i wont go crazy here... Cheesy But here are my WONDERFUL goods!

First thing I see... this amazing black cat print bag that appeared to have a dog magnet inside....

Oh.. that explains it... gastronomic amounts of CANDY! Had to hold the pup back!

And now inside the can. SO MUCH cool stuff! an amazing spider and glittery felt can with 3pairs of pasties, owl and gravestone magnets, sugar skull pin and bookmark, rings, matchbook notepads, mini whimsie jar and HILARIOUS notecards (ill get onto them later!)

Close up of the pasties. flowers, leopard print and sparkly buterfies!

And the magnets, pin, bookmark and some of my whimsie jar contents (buttons, charms andmore!) I dont think ill ever take the skull pin off... will use it to hold together all my capes!

These cards are HILARIOUS. They look perfectly cute on the outside.. but theres a trick inside.. a mean, silly message! Made me laugh so much... my favourite says "I made out with your brother."  HAHA!

Last, but certainly not least, my cat ears! Excuse my rain soaked self, but i just had to show how cute these felt ears are on even without straighteners and makeup! Have been wearing them round the house...!!

Thankyou so much drinkdrankdrunk! You just *got* me. What a brilliant swap!
