My goodies:

Sorry that they haven't been posted sooner. Between sign ups and sending, I was accepted to and started a masters program. Needless to say my butt is being more than a little kicked.

I thought I had posted all of this last night...but I guess I didn't click "post" at the end? If there are two of these please delete this one.

Also: I will try to edit this with better pictures sometime soon.

Here we go!

From Aquasnow: Crochet Green Scrunchie
From Magadoo: Cute Argyle Clippies

From Jadeye: Polka-Dot inspired ribbon clippies

From Rowenlyn: Felt Cupcake Clippies (sorry the picture isn't very good)

Thank you everyone! This has been super fun!

2  A Rag Quilt for My Brother in Quilting: Completed Projects by PeachesEveryday on: May 26, 2009 08:13:15 PM
My brother has had a rough got at it, but these past few years he has really come around and made a life for himself. I wanted to make him something special to show that I was proud of him, so I decided to try my hand at quilt making. I chose a rag quilt because I thought it would be pretty easy. It both was and wasn't. I know next time to make sure that I use dye magnets in the wash with the quilt if I don't preshink the fabrics....to avoid pink boats.

On with the pictures:

Handsome recipient:

The raggy side: I tried to make it sort of masculine so that he can put it out if he so chooses.

The non-raggy side: If you can't tell, the yellowish ones are Curious George and the light blue ones are boats and waves. The boats got died a bit pink when I washed it.

Close up of the inscription:

It was harder than  I thought it would be, but that's not to say that it's not something I would try again. There are a lot of things I would do differently, but I think it turned out pretty well for a first try.

Poor Spotnik! She sent me this amazing bracelet (and earrings - pictures to come when  I can wrangle up a photographer) over a week ago!

Behold:

Really beautiful! Simple, classy, yet breath taking!

Here is a more "action" type shot which also features my prominent veins:

Thank you Spotnik! I am trying to make you something equally splendid.

4  Simple, sweet zipper pouch in Crochet: Completed Projects by PeachesEveryday on: May 17, 2009 11:40:48 AM
A friend is having a BBQ for her birthday/graduation. She is a fellow crocheter, so I wanted to make her a little something. (In addition to the real gift - a gift card to anthropologie)

I sort of winged this little zipper pouch. I would have lined it, but my sewing machine is in the shop and I didn't have enough time to hand sew.

Flower Detail with a shank button center:

The whole pouch. I don't think the sides are that uneven....though they look like it.

Zipper detail. I got the charms on ebay a while ago.

I'm happy with how this turned out. I will definately make other pieces that use a similar design.

5  Tiny Turtle (from free Lion Brand pattern) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by PeachesEveryday on: April 03, 2009 11:20:48 AM
I made this little guy as an Easter present for my friend's son. I found the pattern on the Lion Brand website. It was easy to follow and turned out well. My bf even said that it was the best thing that I had made Smiley

I used Cotton-Ease yarn.

Here he is:

6  Re: OTT 21 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by PeachesEveryday on: April 03, 2009 11:13:59 AM
I received from Mrs.LindsayLoo!

Yesterday I went to my little apartment mailbox to find a crumpled envelope that said "Fragile" and "Handle with Care" I was concerned, but my OTT arrived intact!

She made me a beautiful, reversible crochet and sewn wrist cuff:

From my candy and sweets theme: (note the handmade button)

It is very clever. The fabric portion is sort of embedded in the crochet part. I am trying to figure out how she did it.

Thank you Mrs.LindsayLoo! I love it!

7  Watermelon Ruffle Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by PeachesEveryday on: March 04, 2009 04:04:23 PM
I made this for my great Aunt, whose birthday is on Valentine's Day. She liked it and actually wears it regularly.  Grin

I used Carrion Simply Soft in Watermelon, probably about a skein and a half.

I didn't use a pattern. I made a longish chain, chained 3 (for turning) and then made 3 double crochet in each link of the chain. . . all the way around. I closed it with a slip stitch.

Second Row: Chain 3, repeat above.

It was fun to make and went relatively quickly.....

My mom wants one in black but twice as wide...that is going to take me a while.

8  Creepy, Cute, Cthulhu in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by PeachesEveryday on: March 01, 2009 11:00:01 AM
I bought Creepy Cute Crochet a bit ago and loved the adorable patterns.

My brother (who is very difficult to craft for) picked it up and said that I should make him a Cthulhu for his birthday. I was overwhelmed...but it turned out pretty well.

The ends of the tentacles are not as rounded as I would like, and the wing shape is off, but overall I am pleased.

Back view!

I had a hard time with the wings. I followed each of the directions twice so that I had 4 wings to choose from...then I picked the two that were the best matches. They are supposed to be more pointed at the top...but I couldn't bring myself to make a 5th or 6th wing.

I recommend Creepy Cute Crochet. I had fun making this creepy little guy.

9  Re: Octopode Pandemonium! (Now with Tutorial!) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by PeachesEveryday on: March 01, 2009 10:53:40 AM
Thank you for the pattern!

Here is my take: I don't remember what kind of yarn I used but it was inexpensive acrylic.

I should give him a mouth.

Top View: (look at those wonky legs ...I mean he has character)

I have to admit that it was hard with me to stick with it and make all 8 legs, but I am glad I did.

10  Re: Felt Food - For the kiddies in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by PeachesEveryday on: October 15, 2008 12:39:51 PM
Another pair. The chicken isn't actually in food form...but I don't want to start another whole topic. That litle boy requested a "chicken face." ...now he wants an egg for it to 'poop' out...I may have to pass.

In case anyone was interested or thinking of making something similar...here is the back view....

I'm trying to make them relatively durable...since I don't really want to be repairing them from now until June. I already had to resew an eye on the dumpling/empanada.

Has anyone else noticed that Latin/South American/Mexican type foods are easier to craft identifiably? If I get asked to craft spaghetti or a sandwich....that would be tricky.
