Omg, ok, take a deep breath, here we go...

This cute little gal is so very JJ. A mere 6 tall, she popped out of the package and said helloooo! And she was named Abby, because Sally was already taken by the geckos.

And she brought out a friend

She unfolded herself and shook out her dress and her ribbons and my daughter said l she smells like raisins! And so she was named Raisin.

But wait, there was one last gal, oh so shy, who finally blossomed and came out to play. A sweet geisha, she's so beautiful! Says my daughter, but she doesn't know any Japanese names,  and the sweet geisha was way too shy, so we all looked up something in my books and decided on Kashiwagi, and my daughter says she is an angel. Chances are we'll have to rename her something easier down the road. Wink

Thank you also for the beautiful post card and the bookmark... I shall go online and check it out! The only bad thing is trying to keep the girls away from my dolls he he!

Thank you Noodle-Bug!!! They are all so awesome! Dunno what you were worried about, I can't even decide which is my favorite! xo

2nd Divine, infant sized, using Aslan Trends Magic Garden 224, a green/multi acrylic.. I did not do the ribbing, just kept going with the same stitch, added an extra row, and did the last row with 5dcs to make it ruffle a bit.

1st divine hat, in white mystery yarn. Feels like cotton, but may be a blend, it's super soft. I added an extra row before the ribbing so I could pull it over my ears. I'm not used to any kind of cold lol.

And a pix of the yarn before I started.

16  Re: Junker Jane Style Doll Swap, sign ups CLOSED; send by Jan 18 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by puamelia on: January 05, 2013 10:36:49 AM
Happy birthday, Kitty_Catty!! It's your birthday, It's MY birthday!

So on the 4th, I took off from work, shuttled the older kid to/from school, sat around and crafted till lunch, crafted till dinner, then made dinner and had ice cream cake. I would've went back to crafting except the beer finished me off first hahaha!

Btw, Bam, everything I've done so far is sewn by hand. Wink

Awesome I am not the only one Smiley
Mine too Smiley

I think I'm done with the main now. I contemplated a couple fo extras for her but I actually have no idea how I'd make them... so maybe, if I have time after my small.
Small is coming along ok, disasters have been incorperated. Small is MUCH junkier, since I'm into the swing of it now and also, I'm not so worried about making her 'too junky' for my partners taste  Grin

Yay for hand sewn! My sewing machine is my foot rest at the moment, so I am about to pull it out to do some detail stitching before I assemble. I find that funny - usually it's the opposite - hand stitch details with machine assembly. Smiley

Noodle-bug, I'm glad it turned out ok, excuse the pun. I do enjoy "Junkie" but apparently I can't DO junkie. lol! Here is my first attempt at "Junkie". She is full of light and has a lot of gold thread and silk. My daughter likes her "hair". She still needs a mouth and her dress isn't finished. Noodle-bug, I will try to make yours a little "darker", and use the JJ palette and formula.

Wee! two more dotees came today!  Thank you so much Partners, this was fun!

First from Alexampersandra, an octopus! My younger daughter immediately took it, seriously just barely snapped a pic and now I have to go hunting for it. Verrrry cute! I love the suction cups! But Alex&dra, now I'm curious about what got broken...?

And also, from goddessgarb, Rapunzel! She feels very old world, regal, princess-ey, with her floral brocade-feeling dress pattern and her 100year old lace and trim. So beautiful! She looks amazing against the blue of my desk.

Soap dish... *drool*.  pincushion & roll.... hoopla & apron.... *more drool*

Well, I had my own package to drool over... I don't know where to start playing, there was so much! I am humbled and blessed for such a great spoiling partner - thank you so much Lilly!

The box took crazy long to get here - it was busy being manhandled by customs. I actually saved the green customs tape that they patched it back up with, hehe.

Group shot: green & purple hair things for my daughters; wool fiber for spinning in blue, purple & blue/green; yarn in green, dark red, red/green/purple, & green/yellow/pink/blue; 2 bags of candies; and ohmygoshsomany knitting needles!!!

Closer look at yarns:

The amazing wool fiber:

and the needles: 1 set 5mm DPNs, 1 pair 3.25mm, 1 purple 9mm circulars, gray circulars in US2 (3x), US4 (2x), US1, & US11. AND -- a wooden cable needle that Lilly MADE!!!

Thank you, what an amazing package.... *big hugs*

19  Mermaid Poppet and Cupcake mer-children in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by puamelia on: December 08, 2012 06:03:37 PM

I made these a while back for the last poppet swap and my partner and I decided to throw in a couple of Cupcakes for the kids. I thought it would be easy, not having to make legs. The tail ironically was the hardest part. Thanks for looking, hope you like them!

Some single shots:

20  Tree Girl Dotee in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by puamelia on: December 08, 2012 05:32:28 PM
This was one of three that I made for the Dotee Swap #13, gallery here:

I've never made a Dotee before. I usually make Poppets and have made a few Cupcakes, so the hardest parts for me was going small, and simplifying. I kept wanting to make something more 3D vs. 2D, with multiple parts. Tongue

She is made of felt. The green section is machine sewn and the brown section is hand stitched with silk hand-spun thread, in blanket stitch. There are glass beads and sequins sewn on the top, with a green ribbon hanger and more beads for a tail. My partners fav. colors were red, black, white & shades of green. Her face was done first in pencil, colored in with prismacolor pencils, then the black lines put back in with a black ultra-thin Sharpie.

Here is what she looked like before adding the wool "hair", where you can see her face a little better.

Thanks for looking!
