1  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Hangover Helper (Beer Pillow) on: January 03, 2008 08:36:45 AM
Sure, it works up fast if you work consistently on it! I on, the other hand, have a bottle of Asahi I've been making since October and it's wildly overdue for my friend's birthday  Embarrassed I've just been too lazy to embroider and seam it, that's all.

I know what you mean about all that extra yarn. When I submitted my yarn requests, they advised asking for a little bit more than I thought I'd need just in case. I wound up with at least 2 skeins of each color, when most of them barely use one. I've been making things out of leftover Wool-Ease for months! (I know the pattern calls for Vanna's Choice on the beer bottle, but I actually used Wool-Ease for the whole thing, the Vanna stuff wasn't out yet).

Wow, this is really exciting. You did a great job with it  Smiley
3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Quant -along? knitty winter '07 on: December 10, 2007 03:45:33 PM
A friend of mine just gave me a lovely ball of Debbie Bliss something-or-other for Hanukkah, and I have a feeling this is what it will become. I just have to get through a couple other projects first....

There are two that I would love to see in person. The first is the Naughty/Nice scarf, because it would be cool to see the "trick" in person, to get an even better idea how it would look to the average person on the street, versus to the wearer.

Also, the Biker Boy sweater, because I'd be interested to see in person how the patch attaches and works on the sweater.

Oh, and also the Deady Bear, cuz it's just so freakin' awesome and would be very cool to see in person!

I caught Debbie in Chicago last night, first stop on the tour. She has both the Naughty/Nice scarf and the Biker Boy sweater, although no Deady Bear.

She did bring along my whiskey bottle Hangover Helper, though  Cheesy Also said that my beer bottle went to Europe with her.

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help Out Craftster - New Knitting Adventure UPDATE 11-03-07 on: November 14, 2007 09:27:39 PM
Sorry, I had high hopes of getting pics (and possibly updating my poor, neglected craft blog) after work, but then on the way home I was rear-ended on the highway. By the time I got home, all I wanted to do was eat pizza and watch Mythbusters. Maybe tomorrow  Undecided
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Online Store Question on: November 14, 2007 10:53:46 AM
Has anyone ever ordered from One Fine Yarn or Simply Sock Yarn? I'm in the market for some Cascade Fixation and both these stores carry it, but I always like to check before I order from a new store to see what kind of experiences people have had with them.
