1  Re: messenger bag with gusset tutorial in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SaraAnn on: August 02, 2004 11:01:20 AM
 Grin Hi All,
I just finished this messenger bag. ~Whew~ I make tote bags for sale on eBay but this is my first attempt at a messenger bag. I used coordinating Amy Butler fabrics. I machine quilted the strips. The front and back is the same. I also added some vintage aqua and brown chenille. The brown chenille was hand dyed by me. The bag has a decorative mother of pearl button. At first, I made the flap too short. It was a pain to unstitch the top part of the bag...I became too familiar with that darn seam ripper!! Overall I think it came out so/so. I don't like the flap, I think it leaves a gap between straps. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I'll be more careful next time. My 12 year-old daughter wants a smaller one for back-to-school she may have to wait a bit!!
P.S. I LOVE this website!!!!!! Kiss

Hi,
I love your bag. I also love the background fabric. Grin Is it bed sheets or fabric and where did you get it??  I think it would be great for a bag....sooo cool!!!
