1  New York / New York: West / Re: Rochester Area on: December 25, 2007 12:29:29 PM
I live in Rochester.  It would definitely be nice to have some sort of crafty event... a good reason to stop hiding from the snow (well, aside from going to work and Wegmans). ;]
2  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: (Spicy) Hummus -- What spices do you use? on: December 25, 2007 12:24:52 PM
I tend to use a lot of garlic, and some parsley for colour.  Only recently did I try it with cumin-- what a difference!  Adding red pepper would be extra tasty if you added another kind of beans too, like black or pinto.  Yum!

Hmm, now I'm curious to try a garlic/basil/parsley/oregano combination with some sundried tomatoes...

That is so sweet of you.  It looks wonderful.
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: anyone else use Paperclay? (and my gnomes) on: June 17, 2006 09:03:13 PM
Those are wonderful!  I love gnomes in general, but those are particularly cute.  I think it's the super-nice painting that does it. Cheesy

Also, I hadn't heard of Paperclay so I just looked it up.  I am intrigued!

Awesome.  Love the idea. :]
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My wedding dress on: October 23, 2004 10:15:00 AM
You and the dress are gorgeous!  I've made dresses before, but even with experience I'd be too scared to attempt something like that.  Very impressive.  Congratulations, too!  Smiley
7  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: 10,000 Members! on: July 23, 2004 08:50:48 PM
Excellent!  *throws beads, fabric scraps, and buttons*  I have no real confetti. Wink  I had been reading the boards for a while before I joined, but I'm glad I finally did-- to help reach 10,000!
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: First stencils - Area Code, Techno, and Edwards + A NEW AMAZING STORY!!! on: July 20, 2004 06:54:14 PM
Those are wonderful shirts, especially the Edwards one.  Excellent story, too!
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: Stenciling 101 HELP on: July 18, 2004 02:01:11 PM
The Sophia Loren tutorial is excellent, definitely try that.  Something that I've found very helpful is to print the image on freezer paper (you can find it at a grocery store near waxed paper-- similar, but not the same thing).  Print on the unwaxed side, then cut out the image with an exacto knife.  You can iron the stencil directly onto fabric so it won't shift at all while you're painting/spraying/whatever.  It works really well. =)
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: fabric paint on: July 18, 2004 01:40:26 PM
Fabric paint (like the kind that comes in bottles/tubes) is permanent and washes okay.  I use it for stencils-- partially because it works really well, and partially because I can't find acrylic textile medium except online. Wink
