I love them! I used to have the same problem - long fussy thick curly hair. But i cut it all off last summer! I'm trying to grow it out now, and it's so hard to take care of. I may need to make a few of these, too! little bobby pins don't to the trick for me, lol.

Thanks! I can't wait to see the rest of the fabric she picked up!  Cheesy

I made a little matching coin purse today. I think it's so cute! I still have troubles with zippers, but I think this one worked out nicely.

I noticed the color is a little washed out in these photos, the hot pink is REALLY bright.

First note - Craigslist FTW!  Grin
My aunt called me up a few days ago and told me she had some scrap fabric that I might like... "Some" was more like "An entire TRUCK full" of fabric. This was heaven on earth for me! golly gee, there were piles upon piles up to the ceiling of left over fabric. And She got for -get this- FREE on craigslist. And what I saw wasn't even half of it. She stuffed her van full, and still has to make another trip to pick the rest up! Anyways, I pulled out a small stack of fabric, and immediately went home to make this purse. I owe a friend a purse, and i thought this fabric would suit her perfectly. Too bright and girly for me anyways.  Wink

alright, i'll just get on to a few photos and stop rambling about my excitement in all this free fabric.

By happy accident the flowers on the straps line up almost perfectly!

IT was a pretty easy sew, I did it all - cutting, measuring, sewing and ironing- in about 2 1/2 hours. II made a few purses like this before ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=254005.0 ) and I've pretty much got the hang of it. no patterns, just eyeballing it.

And as always, I'd really love to hear some feedback, and definitely critiques.  Thanks for taking a peek at my new purse.  Cheesy

Thanks!
RippledWater - I've been making small hammocks lately, using that knotted net style macrame. I decided to try it on a smaller scale and figured it'd be perfect for this project. I learned it years ago, I'm not sure where - summer camp perhaps? Cheesy

Unfortunately I do not have any good photos of my favourite cut sdone by me - My highschool mohawk. Sad But here'es a few of my hairstyles over the past few years. I've been styling my hair all myself since i was 13. I haven't dare out to dye it yet... still building the courage. I really love my natural color.

I had loooong hair down to my rear until middle school. Cut it into this chin length thing. was really cute, until my hair started to grow funny curls and became to hard to manage.
This is where is started to give up. To curly and messy.

Then I had to show my hair who was boss. MOHAWK. (I can't find any photos of it up - I only did it for concerts, and that was maybe once or twice a month. Sad yes, I am piging out on ramen noodles. lol.

a couple months after mohawk - sides growing back in. Personally i thought this was really cute.

then last winter I  cut it ALL off short. it was an inch long from root to tip! I always keep the front a bit longer because i have a HUUUGE forhead.
This was my favourite for a while.

I love my hair now. can't wait until it's long enough to pull into a real pony tail. I'm almost there...

I'm growing it out. New years resolution was to not cut it AT ALL. (except trims every three months.)
Within the last two years i don't think i've gone more than two weeks without cutting it. It just kept getting shorter and shorter! lol. I don't have very great photos, but I plan on taking better care of my hair now. It's naturally curly, I gave up the flat iron, and wash it with apple cider vinegar. Smiley

30  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Homemade Deodorant on: July 20, 2010 01:10:13 PM
I've been wanting to make my own deodorant so badly lately. I've just not decided on which recipe, but this one sounds best - Especially because you can put it in a regular empty store container! I've been looking really hard for tea tree oil. Once I get it I will definitely try this!
