51  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: What Crafts Do You Do/Want to do? on: August 17, 2007 09:56:13 AM
This is my first post at Craftster and what a great way to introduce myself!

Crafts I do:
Crochet: I have crocheted since I was at least 8 years old. At this moment, I have about 6 blankets that are in rotation, some Christmas trees (an idea I saw on here) and a bunny rabbit.

Knit: I taught myself to knit about 2 years ago. I LOVE it! Right now, I'm working on the Moderne Log Cabin blanket from Mason Dixon. Next project? A sweater!

Sewing: I learned to sew when I was 16. I tried making a patchwork dress and failed miserably. I finally inherited a new sewing machine and I'd like to start making aprons.

Drawing/doodling: I doodle more than anything, lol. My next project is to take some small canvases and do a group painting for my room.

Hand stitching: I don't do this as often. I recently made a Day of the Dead skull pin cushion for when I finally start sewing. Soon, I'll be breaking out the felt for Christmas ornaments.

Paper crafts: I LOVE the crafts on Martha Stewart. I recently made one of her pomanders (which is now hanging from my ceiling). I'm hoping to be try my hand at her coffee filter flowers for my sisters wedding.

Cross-stitching: I've dabbled in this. I can take it or leave it. It depends on my mood.

Candle making: I can only do this at my best friends because I don't have the room for it. I love things that smell good and I get to experiment with the scents.

Crafts I'd like to learn

Embroidery: I have a two piece set of crewel (sp?) embroidery that my grandmother made about 30 years ago. I love the look that turns out from this.

Soap making: I have ideas brewing around in my head for this. I just need to jump on the ball.

Needle punching: I bought the recent BH&G Holiday magazine the other day and there is a cut Halloween and a cardinal pattern in it.
