This is the greatest thing ever!!!! I've looked at that tree also and couldn't bring myself to buy it. What type of wire did you use?

I'm 28 years old and still love making ornaments for my tree and ornaments to give to other people. The past couple of years, I've tried to make all my gifts which usually turn into Happy New Year gifts! LoL

Anytime I make someone something, they are always appreciative of it. That may be because I only give handmade items to people who I know will appreciate it. Most of the women in my family are crafty (except my sister, bless her little heart) and she LOVES it when I make her stuff.

My mom and mine's tree still has the ornaments that my sister and I made in grade school, snow flakes and bells my grandmother made, ornaments my great grandmother made and some from my mom's older sister. Our tree has handmade and Hallmark ornaments but, the handmade ones are always my favorite. I about died the other day when I went to Target and saw a box of Christmas trimmings for $100! What's the point in that?! I couldn't imagine decorating a tree that didn't have memories behind the ornaments!

I looked for them at Wal Mart, Kmart, Michaels, and Dollar General. I was determined to find them though...I drove 30 minutes down the interstate to the closest Target's to find them!!

If you can't find polystyrene balls, a cheaper and easier to find version are those satin christmas ornaments. Just cut the satin stringiness off of the balls. I found mine at Target and I got 30 balls for $5! Plus, they came in different sizes!
