That's so sweet! I love the cat in the toilet on the left side.

Make sure you share more when you make them. You have great style.
Beclectic, that's a lovely shrine! Such a great way to remember your cat.

Thank you both for the lovely comments, I really do appreciate it!  You guys have some great talent and style yourselves from the pages I viewed!!

Here are a couple of links to my first shrine. This was one I did to get the hang of making shrines in general before I launched into something more complex.

Merlin was a simple cat, not interested in much but sleeping and eating but that probably had a lot to do with his advanced age.  But the two things that stood out the most was his love for tuna and for drinking out the toilet if the lid had been left up.

I enjoyed making this one quite a bit so another shrine will be started soon.

What a sweet tribute; I love the tuna can on the roof!  Cheesy
too cool - yeah the tuna can is just perfect <G>

Thank you!  I'll explain the secret of the tuna can. Cheesy   It's made from two of the metal tea light containers.  The one on the bottom is pushed up inside the inverted top one.  The bottom one had to have some ease slits cut into it so that it fit inside.  Something solid needed to be put inside to not only weigh it down but to stabilize the sides of the "can" since the metal is very thin and easily bent. The label is an image I ran through Photoshop to size it so it would fit the front of the can and then glued on.

Shrine Progress: Roof is on and the platform is started.

You can post links to your pictures until you can post the actual pics. We'd love to see them!

A link, all I can say to that is, DOH!  LOL  Thanks for reminding me I could do that, amaryllisroze!
Okay, here the link is for my first, as well as, one and only in progress. It's a shrine for my husband's cat, Merlin, who passed away last August, he was such a sweetie.

There is a string of 10 "wheat lights" behind the frame so that the pictures can be view more easily at night. I still need to work on the roof, the platform where the battery box for string of lights will be housed and the legs/feet of the shrine. On the large picture in the upper right is real whisker of his which we just happend to find after he passed.

Hello!
My name is Becky and I just registered yesterday after looking at this message thread and viewing the wonderful shrine pictures!  Just recently I found the book, "Creating Personal Shrines" at my local book store and was fascinated by it.  After obtaining some supplies I launched into my first shrine.

I'd post a picture of what I have so far but won't be able to until I meet my posting quota.  Smiley

I just wanted to say to you all for the great ideas and inspiration!
