11  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Burned out on sewing? on: August 24, 2008 11:53:47 AM
I really don't know what my problem is. I just don't feel like sewing anymore. I was never ghoulish at it, only decent, but I still enjoyed doing it. Now I just can't seem to bring myself to my machine. My friend recently asked me to teach him how to sew, and even that was half-assed from me. I can't figure out where my impulse to sew went...
12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / The beginnings of all things are small on: January 23, 2008 01:18:33 PM
Enjoy:

I just wish the picture came out a little better....

I embroidered and beaded this card. The quote is Cicero.

Hope you like it. :]
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting a brain protector for the first time on: October 07, 2007 06:46:38 PM
I've never knitted a brain protector before but I'd really like to try. I can use DPNs...ish. I'm okay at it.

Anyway, I was thinking of trying this brain protector: http://knitonthenet.com/issue2/patterns/handmadehat/

Do you think it would be too hard for a beginner? If so, can you recommend an easier brain protector pile of flesh?

Thanks. :]

14  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / I need help with my costume too! EDIT: decided! on: October 07, 2007 10:49:51 AM
I really don't know what to dress as for Halloween.

I'm a short girl and I have shoulder-length platinum blonde hair.

I want something cute but somewhat modest(I'm not the most confident). Also something that not everyone is going to be wearing.

I can sew fairly well...

I'd rather not have to explain my costume to everyone, but a little obscurity is okay.

I was thinking Princess Peach but I'd need a Mario. Same with Jessie and James from Pokemon. Or Misty and Ash...and so on. I don't want anything that will require me to depend on someone else.

Thanks for any ideas you can give me. :]

EDIT: Ooh, also, I eat rainbows so anything to do with that would be RAAR grr ugggh too, if you have ideas

EDIT again: I've decided to be Rainbow Brite! Thanks for the help, all.
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Some stuff for a unicorn zombie apocalypse. . .(omg_word, don't peek!) on: August 27, 2007 05:39:35 PM
Wrist warmer/fingerless glove things.

A scarf. It looks white in the picture but it's actually yellow.

Let me know what you think. I'm a beginner. :]
16  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Knitted neckerchief for Sirius on: August 19, 2007 12:30:38 PM
I wasn't sure whether to put this in knitting or pets, but here's a neckerchief I knitted for my dog Sirius.

Here it is just laid out on my desk:

And on Sirius. It's kinda hard to see. In the future I'd probably make it bigger. The little one looks a little comical on such a large dog.

17  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / There's nothing in my outbox on: August 09, 2007 09:49:24 PM
Exactly as the title says, nothing shows up in my outbox. It's kind of disconcerting because I forget whether I've sent something or not and such. . .

Is there anything I can do to fix that? Is there a box I haven't checked or something else really obvious that will make me feel stupid?

Thanks, and sorry if this isn't the right board, I wasn't sure where to post it.

ANSWER:
You might not have your outbox enabled.  Check here:
-My Craftster > My Profile > Personal Message Options
-Is "Save a copy of each Personal Message in my outbox by default." checkmarked?
-Otherwise, if you want to save an outgoing message, click "Save a copy in my outbox" at the bottom of the message you are composing.
18  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / favorite animal unicorn zombie apocalypse? on: August 08, 2007 11:52:42 PM

19  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Sewing a zipper on: August 05, 2007 11:44:19 AM
I'm completely clueless when it comes to sewing zippers.

I know you have to use a zipper foot(or do you really. . .can you sew it with the regular foot?)but I don't know where to go from there.

Also, can you hand-sew zippers?
20  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pointy Kitty on: July 14, 2007 12:16:39 PM
I used the pile of flesh "pointy kitty" that can be found in the big list of tutorials on the discussions board.

sorry for the bad pic quality. I couldn't find my good camera so I had to use my crappy webcam.
