1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Summer's here, and so are new journals! on: June 30, 2008 10:34:04 PM
Summer means free time, and free time means new journals!  There are fabric journals with vintage and storybook inspirations, art journals covered with Van Gogh and Monet masterpieces, and even a small paper-covered journal that is fun all around.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / my split-level attic bedroom! (lots of images) on: January 26, 2008 05:53:58 PM

In my first bit of procrastination for the semester, I decided to take pictures of my room to share with you.  Just for fun and because I love my room.

Backstory: This room used to be a walk-in attic in our house.  The ceilings are slanted and there are two floors.  I get two of the three rooms that we made.  It's hard to describe so I'll just show you.

Entering the former attic.

Well, technically this isn't my room.  It's the room next to my room that I use a lot.

This is really entering my room.

Note the slanted roof.

My craft corner.  I always spread everything out and craft on the floor.

My comfy craft pillow!

The craft cubbies that contain all of my crafty goods.

My study corner

The window bench!

The first floor window

My wardrobe

Oh my gosh WHAT!  There's a second floor?!

Why yes, yes there is.

I bet you were wondering where I sleep!  My matress takes up the whole floor!  And can you tell that the bed spread is a forest?  I love it, but no one can ever see it.

Part of my antique collection.  The sugar bowl was my great-grandma's.  I found the owl mug at my favorite antique store, and the dolls are from Amish country!

My shadowboxes.  They were supposed to go on the wall, but I like them better on my upstairs bench.

Looking downstairs from upstairs.

My bench upstairs.

My bookshelf behind my bed.

Knicknacks by my bed.

My bears Smiley

Upstairs window, taken from the bench

Glide the dolphin, Jojo, my oldest and dearest friend, and David.

Magnet strip of beauty

Coats!

The back of my door (collages by me)

That was fun!
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / four new diverse handstitched journals on: December 26, 2007 07:53:06 PM
I made journals for all of my family members for Christmas this year because we all love to journal and I was being begged for journals for quite some time now.  So I got them all in one fell swoop.  Sorry for the crappy images.  I hate jpgs.

For my Mom:

For my artsy sister: (filled with drawing paper and watercolor paper)

For my youngest sister: (It's all made of felt, hand stitched and took a long time but was the most fun to make!)

The endpages are from our favorite dinosaur book:

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / hooray shoulder bag with TEAL on: August 16, 2007 04:46:03 PM
This is the first bag I've made ever, so it was an experience.  My grandma helped me with the sewing because I tend to sew crooked seams (and she has the sewing machine).  Yes, I'm nearly 20, but sewing and me have only just begun to get along.   I used a pattern but modified it quite a lot.  Um, here's some pictures.  There's a teal pocket on the front, a slightly-hidden pocket on the inside, and everything is lined with teal fabric that I adore.  It came out wonderful and I will be using it as my new bookbag for this semester.

oh, love!
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / 2 hand-stitched journals on: July 05, 2007 12:19:57 AM
I think this is my first post here.  I've been wanting to make my own journals for a long time, but I finally got down to it today.

http://pics.livejournal.com/soteria/pic/0003h45h

I just used scrapbook paper for the covers and cream-colored copier paper for the pages.  The pages on the patterned one are regular 8 1/2 by 11 and for the green one I used legal size.  Also, the green one only has three signatures and the patterned one has five, so it's a bit skinnier.

It's so much fun.  I can't wait to make more! (:
