I received the most amazing Bee hoop today from burstofpanties!!  The mailman brought it just as I was leaving for work.  I brought it with me and opened it here!  I am in awe of all the stitches!! It's nice and puffy and the background fabric is gorgeous!!

I only have phone pics under crappy flourescent lights at work right now.  I will be sure to get much better ones tomorrow in the daylight with a real camera.
For now...take a gander at this awesomeness!!

Thank you so much burstofpanties, I love my new bee hoop SOOO much!! Grin

Edit:  Here are much better pictures!

23  Chevron Baby Afghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by pennydreadfull on: March 28, 2012 05:39:40 PM
In September one of my dearest friends announced that she's pregnant!!! She's the first one in our group of friends to have a baby and it has been so exciting. I knew instantly that I would have to make something awesome for her.
I searched around on ravelry, pinterest, etc. looking for some inspiration. I decided on this chevron pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sunshine-baby-afghan but wanted some nice colors, not just some lame soft, dusty, baby colors. I went to Joann's and found this beautiful pink. It's Caron Simply Soft in Watermelon. It's so bright but not neon, I just loved it! I opted for an off white, also Caron Simply Soft and Vanna's Baby Yarn in Duckie. I really think they all compliment each other so well.
I'm not very happy with the pictures I got of the blanket so I hope you can at least kind of appreciate how pretty it is. I finished it the night before the shower (procraftination at it's finest) and it was so cloudy the morning of. The yellow isn't as velveeta cheesy looking in real life, I swear!! It's a very soft, baby yellow.

My friend loved the afghan and the little girl is due on April 3rd...I can't wait!!
Thanks so much for looking!!

24  Rheatheylia Divine Hat for one friend...Cable Scarf for another in Crochet: Completed Projects by pennydreadfull on: March 27, 2012 06:58:30 PM
My bff got kind of screwed in the secret santa exchange we did with our friends this past Christmas.  I decided to make her a few things to make up for it and this is one of the things...
The Rheatheylia Divine Hat made with Red Heart Soft yarn in Grape.  It's so pretty and cozy and she loves it!

Here I am wearing it before I sent it off to her, and some close up shots...

For my friend that I got in that same secret santa exchange along with a few things I bought her, I made this scarf.  Pattern found here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crochet-cable-scarf  (sorry these pics are smaller...they're phone pics.  My camera died RIGHT before I had to wrap it and I had no more batteries!!)

Thanks so much for looking, C&C always welcome!

25  Earwarmer & Scarf set in Crochet: Completed Projects by pennydreadfull on: March 27, 2012 06:49:32 PM
I made this little earwarmer and scarf set for my sister this past christmas.

Dark maroon is one of her favorite colors and I thought the off white looked so nice with it.  I used this easy ribbed pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-ribbed-scarf-2 for the scarf and then jazzed it up with this border I found on Lion Brand's website http://cache.lionbrand.com/faq/429.html?language=
I bought the earwarmer pattern a year or two ago and have made a bunch of them with it. I decided to add a giant flower onto this one for her.

Me sportin' the set...

26  A dress for my 1 year old niece! in Crochet: Completed Projects by pennydreadfull on: March 26, 2012 05:53:20 PM
My first niece was born last January and this past Christmas I knew I had to make her something amazing!  At first I was going to make her a hat and bootie set but my Dad told me that it's impossible to keep anything like that on her, she just rips it off right away lol
I searched around for quite a while and settled on this gorgeous pattern
http://crochetgarden.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&products_id=275&zenid=ntov916h97g8p3071v8qm8dr07
I thought it looked so beautiful in the bright red so I used Vanna's Choice in Scarlett. I was so pleasantly surprised at how easy the pattern was to follow. It's worked from top to bottom and is almost all one piece. The straps are separate pieces you make afterward. I stuck with white ribbon and little roses. I also decided to buy a little white turtleneck she could wear with it.

On to the pics...(there's a ton because I'm super proud of this!)

and here I am with the little peanut looking so pretty in the dress at her 1st birthday party!

27  A scarf and 2 hats for my BF in Crochet: Completed Projects by pennydreadfull on: March 26, 2012 05:43:38 PM
After I made my bff a scarf for her birthday, my boyfriend kept "subtly" hinting that he needed a scarf too.  I just used a basic cable stitch for the scarf and then decided he should have some matching hats.
I found the first hat with the cables patterns on ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/thick-warm-crocheted-winter-hat According to the reviews the pattern was pretty easy to follow. I didn't like the brim on it so I just omitted it. This thing is SO thick and warm!
I found this pattern, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/skull-cap-hat-for-logan for a skull beanie and thought it would be perfect for a second hat! I didn't like the crossbones bit so I just didn't do them. It was kind of a challenge at first with the color change and carrying the grey yarn along with the black when not in use but after trying, frogging, trying again, etc. it turned out great I think!
Anyway, on to the pics...

The scarf alone...

28  My pumpkin eating another pumpkin LOL in Halloween Decor and Parties by pennydreadfull on: March 23, 2012 06:43:25 PM
This past Halloween I decided to make a big pumpkin look like it's eating a tiny pumpkin as my jack o lantern  Cheesy

It was hard to find a pumpkin big enough but this one did the trick and it was a nice round one too!

It took sooo much effort to jam that little pumpkin in the big one.  No matter how big I carved the 'mouth' it just wasn't big enough.  Eventually I got it stuck in there good though.

And here they are all lit up!

30  A Little Whale in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by pennydreadfull on: March 23, 2012 04:31:40 PM
My bff got kind of screwed in the Secret Santa exchange we do with our friends this past Christmas.  I decided I would make her a few extra things to make up for it.  She has an extreme love for whales so this is one of the things I whipped up for her.

I didn't use any pattern or anything.  He's a fairly simple shape so I just winged it.  I used felt for the eyes, water spout and the little heart.
