141  My Second Corset-y Shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by pennydreadfull on: September 04, 2007 08:12:15 AM
This is my second attempt at a corset style shirt.  I actually finished this about 2 weeks ago but forgot to take pictures!  The first side has an image I cut out of a tshirt with Bela Lugosi as Dracula about to suck a chics blood  Grin and the reverse side has a fleur di lis I appliqued on.  Sorry for how wrinkly the white is, the shirt was rumpled up in my drawer!  Im really stoked at how this shirt came out!
Thanks for looking!

142  My first corset shirt!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by pennydreadfull on: July 27, 2007 06:29:09 AM
So here is the very first shirt I've made since I got my sewing machine a month ago and I am super happy with it!  The back, where the eyelets are, didnt come out 100% how I would have liked but now at least I know what I'm doing.  I only have boneing on the back, 2 pieces on either side of the eyelets, I already have another shirt like this I'm working on and I'm gonna add alot more on that one on the front and sides.  This shirt is reversable, I stole that idea from violentjayne, it makes total sense since there has to be a lining!  Also, violentjayne is super awesome b.c she helped me out with some eyelet questions I had.  so...here it is!
This is the first side, neon green leopard print, i freakin love it!

and the kind of wonky looking back

This is the other side, it's black with neon green bats...my bff and dad both asked if it was for halloween...haha, NO!

my sister told me it's boring to just stand there so...

the back doesnt look so bad on this side.

I hope you all like it, I looove it!  I can't wait to finish my next one!

143  My first Quilt! in Quilting: Completed Projects by pennydreadfull on: July 13, 2007 06:05:40 AM
Well actually, I dont know if this counts as a quilt, I didn't use any batting in between the layers b.c the backing is fleece.  I started this on Monday and finished it last night, it's for my boyfriend, Tuesday was our one year anniversary and I only see him on the weekends (he lives an hour away) so I'm giving this to him tonight!  It's big enough to fit on a twin bed, although it isn't exactly season appropriate, I hope he'll like it!  I did the embroidery last night, it's in the upper right hand corner piece that sticks into the music notes, I was up til 230 finishing it...that's why "Soul" is a little wonky...I'm gonna fix that today!

145  reupholstered dining room chairs in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by pennydreadfull on: July 02, 2007 10:53:38 AM
So my sister and I got these awesome chairs for our dining room table (even tho we dont ever eat at it...its become my new sewing station) from her boss but they had this hideous flower and stripes pattern on the seat so...we unscrewed them and stapled this awesome fabric onto them and screwed the seats back on...they look awesome!  I have two paintings in that area with almost the same color purple in them...it all looks so bitchin together!!!  Now we just need to get a smaller table!

The color is much more like the second picture, it not nearly as dark as the first.

146  Elvis PJ Pants in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by pennydreadfull on: June 22, 2007 05:57:54 AM
These are the first article of clothing I have made on my new sewing machine...or any sewing machine for that matter!  I'm very happy with how it turned out...except that one leg has elvis facing the wrong way, oops!  These are for my boyfriends birthday, I dont think he will care that one leg faces one direction while one faces the other!
These pictures make the pants look short and fat, they really arent, its just the angle I was at I guess!

147  Bloody Chainsaw Birthday Cake! in Dessert by pennydreadfull on: June 22, 2007 05:50:30 AM
So here is the real chainsaw cake...I made the foot into a shoe so it's not nearly as fallic as the last one!! (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=176569.msg1825696#msg1825696)
The pictures didnt come out that great b.c when I had the flash on there would be a HUGE glare from the tinfoil so I had to do it without flash.
This is for my boyfriends birthday tonight...I cant wait to give it to him!

So I just got a brand spankin new sewing machine on Tuesday and these are the first things I made yesterday!  I love my new machine, its so quiet and smooth and oh its just like butter!!  Grin  I know they arent much but...I wanted to do something easy to help me get to know my machine...plus these look way better in the living room than the ugly uncomfortable beige ones!

150  Zombie Table in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by pennydreadfull on: June 14, 2007 07:00:16 AM
I went to Michael's last week and this table was on sale for $5!! So of course I had to buy it!  I decided to paint it like a zombie, I still have to polyurethane it and then it's gonna go on our porch!
The color is really more like the picture of the table top, the picture of the leg is alot brighter b.c of the flash I guess.
