31  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Whipped lotion for my sister with Multiple Sclerosis on: February 24, 2008 07:32:55 AM
I finally got all my supplies last week to start making some lotions.  My sister has MS and gets super sore muscles as well as having issues concentrating on these, getting overly anxious, having a cloudy head, etc.  I did a little research to find some essential oils that may help out some and chose basil & rosemary.  Between the two there are some great muscle relief for sore and tight muscles, makes one more alert, clears the mind, calms you down.

So I whipped up some lotion of ...
Shea Butter
Cocoa Butter
Grapeseed Oil
Aloe Vera Juice
Emulsifying Wax
Basil & Rosemary EO's

It turned out awesome. Smiley  I can't say I'm overly fond of the smell, but it isn't totally overpowering so it is okay.  She loves it.  She said it has really helped her neck's soreness.  And, she says, it is super moisturizing.

I gave some to my swap partner in the menstrual care package swap too because all of the things it will help with ms, should help with PMS too!

A pic of the lotion ready to go to my partner along with a tube of peppermint zip lip balm I made.

Thanks for looking!
Smiles,
Cat
32  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mother Earth - A Digital Print on: February 18, 2008 08:08:01 AM
I have had this image in my head for a while but didn't find any toddler free time until recently to actual draw it up.
I was trying to convey a message with it.
The absolute beauty and wonder of a pregnant woman... that she holds the future within her.  The future, not only for her, but for the entire world.

35  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / 80's Fantasy Movie Swap? on: December 20, 2007 11:01:16 PM
I did a search and it looks like one was done a while ago.  It'd be for movies like Legend, Labrynth, Willow, The Neverending Story, etc. Smiley I just bought The Neverending Story the other day for my kids.  I was so in love with that movie when I was younger that I just had to get it for my kids too! Smiley  I think it could be a really awesome swap. Smiley
36  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Brown Cord Tapered Tote on: September 14, 2007 07:46:10 PM
I made this pretty brown cord bag for my swap partner in the I can __ but I can't  ___ swap. Smiley  She wanted something large and sturdy to carry around her college books.  She also wanted it tapered with the sash across the top there. Smiley  I had never made one like that before, but it was sure fun to try this out.  I put some small pockets on the inside for her ipod and cell, and a larger pocket on the outside for a water bottle. Smiley

37  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A box of men's ties goes a long way ... on: September 14, 2007 07:43:34 PM
I found a box of men's ties at a local auction for $3!  It had over 60 ties in it.  I was doing a craft swap on thebatgirls.com and everything you used had to be recycled.  The men's ties are on the outside and the handle.  The lining is white fabric from some old lined drapes.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

Cat
