21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Hermie & Noddy ornaments on: December 08, 2008 08:26:08 AM
I'm not the greatest at the whole sculpey thing, but I thought I'd give some elf ornaments a try this year with it.

Here is Hermie from Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.

(suppose to look like this in case you didn't know)

And here is Noddy from the cartoon Noddy.

Hermie is for a swap and Noddy is for my nephew for Christmas.  I hope they like them. Smiley

22  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / TMNT! - TURTLE POWER! And some other "cuddlers" too! *PIC HEAVY* on: November 07, 2008 12:20:55 PM
I made this up for a swap I'm doing on another board.  Out of all of them that I've made using this pattern, this is my fave so far.

I have a bunch more to make for the swap still, but here are some of the others I've made up too.  All using the same "body" pattern.
Minnie

R2D2

Ferocious Beast

Elmo

I think I posted the other ones I've made before, so I won't repost.

23  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / R2D2 Saves The Day!!! on: November 01, 2008 04:35:38 PM
I had planned on making my ds an r2d2 costume based off this one.  I thought I had another week to go, but was sorely mistaken.  I remembered Friday morning (a week before Halloween) that he had a Halloween party THAT night at the school.  So I pulled everything out and went to work on it.  I didn't have a pattern, just the pic of that little boy and how his costume looked.  I attempted to make a head piece like that one, but didn't have the right material so I dug out some yarn and started crocheting.  Once again, I had no pattern, but looked at a pic of r2 and went from there.  I finished his costume at 6pm.  His party started at 6:30.  He had tons of compliments on his costume, and as you can see, he was very happy with it. 26  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Transformers Transformation **PIC HEAVY** on: August 24, 2008 04:52:39 PM

Before it was the baby's room.

And DH found this dresser on the side of the road for free.

We stripped, painted, sweated, cursed, painted some more and then fell to the floor in exhaustion, but the "Transformers" bedroom is now finished!! (I am going to put a couple Transformers posters up on the walls later, but for now we are done).

Handpainted dresser knobs -
Optimus Prime

Bumblebee

Ratchet

Prowl

I made the curtains (short so the fan can work best).  I painted the huge Autobot logo on the wall to protect my 4yo from any and all bad guys (monsters).  The room is painted yellow and black after Bumblebee, my 4yo's favorite character.

My son is in love! Smiley I think my dh is too.  He wishes his parents were as cool as us and made him this cool room when he was a kid.
27  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A gnome I painted for a swap on: May 20, 2008 11:22:44 PM
Woodland Gnome. Smiley  He has some quirky areas on his face I'm not completely happy with, but I think he turned out pretty well. Smiley  I did him a couple months back, just forgot to post him.

28  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Grandma's Hands on: May 20, 2008 11:19:44 PM

These hands, holding a crochet hook and yarn, embellished with rings she has collected through the years, are some of the most beautiful hands I've ever seen.
These hands worked themselves raw in factories as she raised her 4 children on her own.
These hands are the hands of a nurse by profession and a nurturer by heart.
These hands bandaged up my boo-boos and felt for my fevers.
They squeezed mine 3 times to tell me "I.Love.You".
These hands held my mother as she cried her first cries after birth.
These hands held me as I cried my first cries right after birth.
These hands held my son as he cried his first cries after birth.
She is a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, wife ... and all around wonderful woman.
I love you grandma.

30  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Springtime Earflap Hat For Infant Boy on: April 17, 2008 12:50:42 PM
My cousin asked me to make some earflap hats for her ds (5 months) for the spring. She didn't like the bonnet type hats at the store so today I sat down and drafted this pattern up. There are a few kinks I need to work out, but I plan on making quite a few more of these for her now that I have the basic idea.
