My sons are having a Pirate themed birthday party, so I wanted pirate hats & eye patches for them and all their partygoers.  So I made up these Pirate hats that I could print out on card stock, cut out, add a little string or elastic and VIOLA! we have some pirate hats!  I then decided to make some girl ones for the little girls that will be there and some cupcake picks too.  If you'd like to read my blog entry on it, you can find it here.

My sister just moved into her own apartment and it is totally barren in there.  No curtains, nothing on the wall... just a canvas waiting to be painted.   Her fave tree is the acacia tree, so to put a splash of color up on her walls, I painted this 16x20 canvas.  It is still a bit wet in the pic.  I probably should have waited to take the pic, but I wanted to show a friend what I was doing.

I can't claim this one.  It was my dh that did this up, but I really wanted to show you guys. 
You know those topsy turvy things that have the upside down plants that you hang on your porch?  DH made a couple for his mom for mother's day.  He used the instructions here.  But then he spiffied it up even more and stole some of my fabric and ribbon to make it pretty.  And he gota nice chain to hang it up with as well.

Now he's doing some for our house too! YAY!

My swap partner has received this already, so I'm going to post it here.  We had participated in the crafty detective swap and I saw on her wist, she was wanting <a href="http://kellymaher.wordpress.com/2007/07/04/ribbed-lace-bolero/">this</a> Ribbed Lace Bolero. As you can see, it is a knitted piece and I just do not do knitting. So I looked and looked at the picture and decided I could do a similar piece by crocheting it. No, it wouldn't be the same, but a close enough try.
So this is what I made! (Sorry I don't have anyone in her size here to model it so it, so the computer chair is my model! LOL)

My son (5)  has a bday party to go to tomorrow for one of his classmates. This is the first girl classmate that has invited him to a party this year. When I called her mom to see what types of things she was into, she told me she LOVES to dress up like a princess. I asked her if handmade gifts were welcome or if they'd prefer store bought and she told me they LOVE handmade stuff, so I got all excited about making a little girl something all princessy! I don't get to do that very often since I only have 3 boys!

So I went and bought some tulling, pulled out this pink shirt that has been sitting in my craft bin for a year (bought it on clearance for .50) and grabbed the felt.

The end result is ...
A princess crown. It is yellow (golden) on one side and purple with embroidered flowers on the other side.

A shirt with the letter "M" sewn on with sequins.

A pink & purple princess skirt/tutu made out of tulling.

I'm so hoping Princess Mia enjoys her gifts tomorrow!

4 cakes of tuscan colored chenille.  Not sure on yardage here.  They are pretty nice sized cakes, though.


5 cakes of navy colored chenille.  Not sure on yardage.  A couple skeins have been partially used.


2 skeins dkworsted black/grey/white wool.  Not sure on yardage.  One of the skeins says 145 yards.  10/11wp


8 skeins 3 ply lion brand molaine (fake mohair) yarn.  Some skeins have been slightly used.  This stuff attacts EVERYTHING.  I got this off ebay and it has a bit of dog hair in it from the previous owner.  It makes super soft and nice pieces, though. 


A little over 2 yards of Misty Gardens fabric. 


Just under 2 yards (70") of this Hawaiian print.

Added some custom made pieces in hopes of someone claiming!

I made for rowenlynn and she received quite a while ago since I sent early.  I'm just going to post some pics of the things I made her here.   Hopefully she'll be on to post sometime with the rest.  I didn't get a pic of the one thing I made her.  It was a hair clip with peacock feathers, similar to stuff in her wists.
She also had this in her wists, but I don't knit.  So I checked the picture out really well and made something similar with crocheting.  This was definitely the large part of the package since it took so long to make.  I really hope it fits her and she likes it.

She had some foodstuff purses on her wist, so I made her this cupcake purse.


And she said she liked owls, so I made her this big owl stuffie (the one on top)


So those along with the peacock hair clip is what I sent.

I received from sarahj2001, but haven't been able to post pics until today.   We've been horrid sick and I just didn't have the energy to get to it.
I have to say, though, that Sarah is an AMAZING crafter and she spoiled me rotten!! WOW.  The box she sent me was so full of so many wonderful things that I was in tears.  Just absolutely amazing.
I have pics of everything except the beautiful resin clover pendant she made me.  As soon as my sis saw it she took it and I wasn't able to get a pic of it.  It was her first time doing resin and she did an awesome job!

And on to the awesome pics ...

These hooks were in my wists.  They get turned upside down.  THey are now hanging in my kitchen with my towels hanging from them.


These cute soaps were in my wists and she sent 3 of them, one for each of my boys! YAY! Bday presents!


She made my boys these awesome I spy bags!  I can't wait to give them to them for their bday!


This gluten free for dummies book was in my wists too!  Wow, what an awesome stalker!  We've been spoiling my 2 year old with Celiac Disease with some of the cool recipes in here!

And don't forget the candy!


This is the felted sweater bucket she made me for my yarns!  Here it is full of some of my yarn!


She even spoiled my shih tzu!  Look at my little Sashi wearing her cute little bandana!


And these last two are my faves!! I can't pick an absolute fave, so these are tied.
A beautiful car organizer to sit between my boys.  It is now filled with toys, snacks and coloring books.  She did an awesome job with sewing this.  SHE HAS SKILLZ!


And this beautiful cross.... just beautiful. I love it.

Hanging in my window you can even see it through the curtain!!!
