I've redone this twice and I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The stitches keep getting pulled out and the pattern is looking loopy. I thought the tension was okay while I was crocheting... Should I try a different hook Huh

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Not sure how to fix this one on: December 17, 2010 01:56:06 PM
Yeah, I tried to add ears, but my roommate says it looks like the cow has a forehead tumor haha. I was trying to avoid it, but I do think I'll rip out the head and start over.

So I just taught myself how to embroider and I'm making a towel for my brother. Problem is I embroidered 2 images on it: one I like, and one that looks quite awkward. I know these aren't original ideas. Also the towel hasn't been washed or ironed yet as I'm looking for suggestions to make the awkward one less awkward. I think it's the head/legs thats bothering me... Any ideas? I guess I'm looking for one that involves minimal work :-P

The one I like:

The one thats awkward:

Thanks!

I saw that episode of Rachel Ray too! He made it look so easy how he just plopped the fondant on the cake and trimmed the edges. The cake looks great, I'd buy it Grin

How do you crochet around the squares? Do you punch holes in them? How far apart and how far away from the edge? eEepp sorry for the questions, its just that the way you did it looks so even and neat. Grin
