I've been wanting to make one and finally got around to doing it.  Well, they are like oreo cookies...you can't have just one!!!



I put pockets on both sides on the inside so I can store little things.



They sure were fun to make!  I can't wait to make more.  I am making one for my Mom to go with a sewing basket that I made for her for Mother's day.  As soon as I get that all done, I will post pictures of them!

Okay, so as my purse was sitting on the table, it just didn't look finished.  So I added some beaded fringe to the flap.  I like it even better now!

I created a pincushion from felt, beads and embroidery!

There have been requests for me to put more information here so people don't have to go to my blog, so here you go.....

I'm really happy with the way this turned out. I incorporated felt (my latest obsession) embroidery and my love of beads in this. I used a cardboard foundation for the base and the walls so that they wouldn't bulge so much when I stuffed it. For weight, I used some curtain weights that I found in a medicine bottle that my Grandmother saved (she saved everything and usually in old medicine bottles!)...thank you Grandma. I use this almost every day and it is full of needles and pins. I wish I could take credit for my idea, but I ran across this website: http://belladia.typepad.com/bella_dia/2007/06/little-houses.html and got inspired! I will be making more of these little darlings! It was such fun to cut out paper templates and draw on them what I wanted that part of the house to look like. That it actually turned out as I envisioned is awesome! Soon to come...a matching needle case!

Well, I have been lurking on this thread for a while...trying to read all the posts since the beginning!  I pm'd ghilie a couple of weeks ago for the pattern.  I finally was able to finish my poppet...so, without further ado...may I present Priscilla...

I am a happy girl!

My daughter is going to be in a play on Tuesday.  She is playing Sara Josephina Hale, the woman who convinced Lincoln to make Thanksgiving a national holiday.  I didn't want to make a whole costume and she has a dress that will work well, so I made her a bonnet to wear.  I am really pleased with how it turned out!
