This really is some great work... I'll admit I saw it on the front page and only clicked on it because I was curious about what it was transformed into! And I was pleasantly surprised! No wonder you got hit on at Walmart...  the dress is too cute and it has a perfect fit on you!

(And I have super veiny hands too... *highfive*)

Wow, I have totally slacked off and missed a ton of awesome packages!

Tanzie- That is just a crazy great package! The hook/needle roll is adorable, I love the fabric... and I saw those bamboo hooks/case while I was looking for stuff for my partner, and I nearly bought it for myself! Tongue

Crochetadikt- The felt bag is waaaay cute, I love the colorway. And the 'boys are smelly' notebook: priceless!

Midnight7649- I love the bag... the colors make me think of summertime and going to the pool. The braided handles are so neat!

fantatsticmio- The houndstooth needle roll is beyond awesome! And the box! Lucky partner Tongue

bperry042- Cute needle roll... I love the monkey fabric!

motleycruiser- I love, love, love the owl pin! I'm adding it to my wist now!

tcha345- Love the market bag! Especially the color!

umheried- That shirt = freaking super. I might have to make myself one like that! Love the bag too!

k-roc- Love the market bag... and you must be a very conscientious swap partner for finding fantasticmio a shirt like that!

Kurtzie- The tie bag and coin purse are way too cute, and I agree with everyone... crochet hook on a keychain is genius!

What a super swap! Cheesy

No problem... hope you all post your finished projects! And if anything is confusing or not clear, let me know Cheesy

Also, gdeeaz... I looked up the bags on that website you mentioned, and I am thinking that something like that might need to be sewn together somehow, instead of crocheted... but I don't know! Would have to give it a shot. Cheesy

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: My Version of the Soda Can Mirror! on: June 16, 2008 06:15:28 PM
Hey all- didn't realize there were new posts in this thread!

I cut the cans up first by jabbing an old knife through the can where the nutrition facts are (since I knew I wouldn't need that area) and then carefully cutting around the top of the can with regular kitchen scissors. The aluminum is actually quite thin, so the first cut is the most awkward. Once the top was cut off I cut a straight line down through the nutrition facts to the bottom of the can, and then around once more. The can then unfolded to a rectangle... after leaving a stack of these under heavy books, I used a plastic template I had cut out and just cut around it (I think I managed to cut 4 small pieces out of each can).

Hope that helps!
