Yep! I can hear just perfect. Remember, sound travels through solid mass better than air. And it's only a little tuft of padding.

Ok this is an AWEsome idea, I have the same comfort problems as you-- I can use the tiny earbuds but they tend to pop off and get lost forever.
But I'm confused.. in the tute it looks like the buds go inside the muffs, but in the action shots they appear to be outside and above the muffs?

Nope that's a shell that I used as a dread bead.

I hope this is in the right place... earmuffs are considered clothing, right?

Anyways...

These were earmuffs. Now they are headphones. Why? Because earbuds hurt my ears. So do big heavy headphones. And it's hard to find stuff to fit over my dreads.

I used a seam ripper to open the bottom of the earmuff and pulled the inner section of stuffing out.

I used craft wire to hold the earbud in place and then I taped it. I don't think the wire is necessary, but since I only had two hands it helped keep things together while I taped.

I stuffed the padding back in and made my boyfriend sew it shut because I haven't learned how to hand sew yet. I can only use a machine.

Action shot? Sure!

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: THE GENERIC GIRLFRIEND THREAD (FOR LESBIANS, BISEXUALS AND MALES) on: December 17, 2009 08:52:30 AM
C'mon ladies (and gents), let's keep this going.

What are some of the sweet things you've done for the girl in your life?

Girls, what are some things you would like? Maybe just talking about the kind of stuff you'd like to receive might generate ideas.

I'll give it a shot:

I recently found an old family photo album that goes back about 3 generations. Unfortunately, it's falling apart. Having the pics put in a new album would be an awesome gift. Heck, even a new album would be good and I could do it myself.

Learning is my biggest passion (aka excuse for ridiculous amount of hobbies) so classes or lessons of any kind are made of win.

I like a lot of famous nintendo titles like Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy... there's a lot of crafts on here based on these things.

I like road trips and just "getting away". Even driving two hours to an actual "city" is a nice change. A coupon for a trip or a prepaid gas card, a map (i'm old fashioned, no gps) and a packed lunch would be good.

Okay I had a bunch of ideas and I'm drawing a blank. I can't even think of what I want for myself. I'm getting old in my 23 years lol.

What are some of your interests and what would you like to receive based on them?

Cute! I need one of these. I cheat and wear extensions, but I only take them out long enough to reseal and wash, and back in they go. They're about to my hips now... so heavy.

Anyways... rambling... Great job!!
