12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My first Embroidery piece on: October 24, 2005 03:45:33 PM
I've done the odd stitch before for embelishing other things but have never done a big piece.  Here is my first, i must say i impressed myself!  Hehehe.

I have quilted it and plan to either frame it as it is or turn it into a bag, what do you think?  Any suggestions?

15  COOKING / Dessert / 1st Birthday Cake on: May 10, 2005 04:00:27 AM
I wasn't sure where to post this so it's here, in the miscellaneous folder.
It was my little girls 1st birthday today and i made her this simple but pretty cake

It's carrot cake underneath.
She seemed to enjoy it, though most of it ended up all over her face, hands and the floor.
Here's apic of the birthday girl on her new trike

17  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / hooded baby jacket on: February 06, 2005 02:16:31 PM
Hi all,
I finished this last night.  It still needs the fastening put on, the pattern calls for a frog closure, not sure i want one of those, any ideas?  The pattern is from 'Simple crochet' by Jane Davis.  What do you think?

I did post a tutorial, but i felt uncomfortable about it, i wasn't sure if i was infringing copyright so i deleted it.  If you'd like to know how to make this bag you will find it in the book 'bags with style' by Stephanie Kimura.
I'm sorry if this dissapionts anyone.

19  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / help for pet rescue centre on: January 17, 2005 01:48:03 PM
Hi all,
I hope you don't mind me posting this here.
I have recently relocated from the UK to Melbourne, Australia and had to give up my precious lop eared bunny Oscar.  He has gone to live with a lovely lady named Kathy at her small pet rescue centre in Nottingham, England.
I was recently in touch with her and she replied asking for donations of used stamps and postcards.  Used stamps and postcards help them with funds, people all over the world collect them, for every black bin bag they supply to a company they weigh it then pay them up to 30.00 pounds depending on area, country etc. they then bag it seperately then resell them to stamp or postcard collectors, i know it doesnt seem much but every little helps.

If you're willing to donate, pm me and i'll let you know the address to send them to.
I'd be truly grateful, and i'm sure Oscar and Kathy would be too.

Any other ideas to help raise money for them would be greatly accepted.
20  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Aussie swap on: January 15, 2005 04:38:00 PM
Hi,
I live in Melbourne, Australia and was wondering if there was anyone else in Australia that would be interested in a swap of some sort.  Maybe handbags, knitted/crocheted related items, dolls, jewelry, paper crafts or anything else that you can think of.
Wha d'ya think?
