14  Stuffed Bell Pepper in Knitting: Completed Projects by Horse Power on: December 03, 2007 01:45:19 PM

Knitted stuffed-bell-pepper on the left, actual stuffed-bell-pepper on the right. It amused me that the knitted version happened to turn out the same size as the genuine article.  Cheesy
Made it by starting the Curly Purly Pumpkin pattern in green but casting off earlier than instructed and leaving it open, and then knitting a yellow square for cheese, the red rice is the base part of another pumpkin turned over, and then it was stuffed and all the parts sewn together.

Camera sorta functional again ~ Here are the first three:

The one on the left is the one made with extra cast on stitches and extra rows, and the one in front was done on straights.

And I've got a fourth in progress. Why, no, I'm not obsessed or anything. Grin

That wolf is gorgeous!

I received 2 fabulous cards today! I apologize in advance for the blurry photos, you don't know what I went through trying to get my webcam to function again. If anyone has better quality pix of their own work, please post them. Anyhow:

The candy corn one is from WYOKrista: it's punchneedle embroidery and is wonderfully textured, just like a tiny little rug!

The kitty is from CjSachiko, I had to get it in two pics so it would show up... tiny little pawprints and the word "Meow" - so cute!

Thanks guys!  Grin

18  Pumpkin-along in Knitalongs by Horse Power on: October 10, 2007 01:05:35 PM
I just tried one of these little pumpkins out and was surprised at how cute and easy and fast it was:

Here's the pattern:
http://www.curlypurly.com/pumpkin.html

Anyone want to join me while I make some more? It's a great little project for practicing with your dpn's. (or use a different pattern if you want, there's also one on Knitty that uses straights)

*editing to add: I just realized you can make these with straights! Cast on requisite number of stitches, follow the k4, p1 pattern across, then do k1, p4 on the way back, and continue to alternate. Continue with pattern directions, seaming up the side before cinching ends.*

Lots of people have been posting about them ~ I rounded up a few threads in case anyone wanted to look at pictures and variations.

19  Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - AUGUST in Crochetalongs by Horse Power on: August 11, 2007 05:47:49 AM
Wow, Homerof2, your multicolor square and leaf square are both phenomenal! I love how the pattern is so highlighted in the green.

I didnt do the fancy border on my leaf square because I had about two inches of ivory left and didnt want to add to the stash. The little two-color squares were cool.

Im happy to say that Im now all caught up!  Grin

Ooh! Lots of handsome squares being posted!
I'm done with March's!

Now on to August's!
I finally figured out to do a set on Flickr, yay! As I was looking at them all together I was trying to think ahead to joining, and wondering if it would be worth the extra time and effort to frame everything with white? Flickr Set
