1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Mila Kunis Oscars dress help! on: February 05, 2012 11:09:09 AM
So I've decided to tackle making my own prom dress because I find so many dresses out there just ugly and gross and bleh! I started googling my heart away and found the most amazing, and complicated to make, dress ever. Mila Kunis's dress from the Oscars. Pure beauty! But does anyone have any idea how to start this dress? It looks like the lace dress and then the chiffon or whatever draped over it. Any ideas or patterns or ANYTHING?

3  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / That's right, I sprayed my shoes... on: August 07, 2008 04:27:40 PM
with glitter spray!  I had my first day of school outfit planned out, but I had no shoes to go with it.   Sad
so I got a pair of plain white canvas shoes at payless for $12.99.  I wanted them to be silver(to match my silver necklace, of course!) so we went to A.C. Moore and picked up this cool glitter spray.  It's like spray paint, but with no color, just colored glitter-are you guys sick of the word glitter yet?

Here are some pics!

Before:

During the process( I taped up parts I didn't want to be sprayed and stuffed with newspaper so the inside was safe):

After!:

Here is what I used:

I am so in love with them! Can't wait to try them out! Tell me what you think!!

Hello Everybody!!
This is my first project post!!
I made this dress for Formal Day at our school.  Everybody loved it and loved it even more when I told them I made it........last night.  That's right, the whole thing last night with no pattern!!  Grin

I think it reminds me of a vintage dress. I was inspired to make this dress when I saw this post by Red Cat, White Velvet

7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / tanning lotion idea on: January 19, 2008 01:32:49 PM
I had a thought today *oh god help us all* lol
If you took a lotion that was white or a really light color, and put in some ground
coffee in it and mix it up.
This seems like it would be good substitute for regular tanning lotion.
Or you could put in some powdered bronzer.....
Any thoughts on this?
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knitting upside down on: December 23, 2007 02:37:17 PM
I found this card on lion brand and someone here said once people knit like that.
Is this true and if it is, who turned it around?

a lot of the patterns in Twinkle's Big City Knits are made on circular needles
but I can't get any rigt now, but really like them
is there a way to knit them on straight needles, specifically the shopping tunic?
