21  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Re: Owl towels on: June 21, 2010 04:57:11 AM
Lique:  I purchased this same file from Tigerlillyhill today.  It did not come with a dieline like I am used to.  How did you make yours with no dieline? I am new to this, have only had my machine for under 2 months....

I guess I could just print the entire file and figure it out but if you can help me, it would be much appreciated..

You set it up and then it stops when you have to change the color of thread. It takes one color at a time.

This was my first project with my Brother Embroidery machine.  I just got it a couple of weeks ago.  I love it.

I purchased this file from www.emblibrary.com

Since this was my first project, I purchased some cheap towels from Walmart 5 pk for $5.  I am really happy the way they came out. And I am really happy with how easy it was to download to my machine.

I love the embroidery design.. Did you purchase it online?
25  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby Blanket and Burp Cloths on: May 16, 2010 01:13:19 PM
My son's best friend just had a baby girl.  They named her Sophia.

I made this cute baby blanket and made the applique "S" to take it from something simple into something special.... The blanket is about 30" X 30"

I also put her name on the burp cloths.  My sewing machine only has one font.  I am purchasing an embroidery machine this week.  I have become addicted to personalizing gifts.

Hope you like it.

I am looking to purchasing an embroidery machine. What kind of machine did you use to make this very cool potholder?  I love it.
27  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: My first sewing project...a purse! on: April 30, 2010 07:56:27 PM
It turned out great.  I made a few of these hobo bags using this tutoria.. http://www.jcarolinecreative.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=JC&Screen=HOBO_BAG

It turned out great and it was pretty easy.

Another good bag to make is  the phoebe bag... This turns out so great.... I have made several for my nieces...

Both of these are free... take a look at the tutorial and just go step by step....

Good Luck and Happy SEWING

Is there any depth? or did you just sew 3 lines around sides and bottom?
