Here's my bunny, I embroidered him with flowers. The image of him popped into my head one day from who knows where and I had to make him.  I think I might try some stuffed critters with embroidered tattoos next!

Need some inspiration for embroidery? I was just looking up henna patterns and thought they'd make beautiful embroidery. http://mehandi.com is a great resource, or just type henna patterns in a search and see what you can find!

57  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Frogboy embroidery on: August 08, 2004 03:57:26 PM
I've been practicing my embroidery lately, just doing some various odd, fun things. Here is my latest, The Incredible FrogBoy, who is mentioned in an old Weird Al song. (If you can name which one, you get a cookie! ) I had done a random sketch of him a while back, recently found it and decided it would make a good embroidery pattern.  I thought of making it into a pillow and sending it to Weird Al, but I think I can do a better job on a new version, this one has a few mistakes. What do you think?

58  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / How do I hide a GIANT mirror?? on: August 06, 2004 11:26:37 AM
My husband and I recently moved into a new house (well, new to us, it was built in the early 80s) There is a huge mirror on the living room wall. It's like 8x9 feet. And it is tinted sort of a sepia tone. yikes. I guess it was intended to give the room a feeling of more space or something? Needless to say it is hideous and I would like to hide it somehow as removing it from the wall would probably destroy the wall. Any ideas?? All I can think of is to maybe make a giant curtain or tapestry to hang over it. Can mirrors be painted? Please help, otherwise I may have to start holding dance classes in my livingroom. Smiley

60  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Monster friend on: July 15, 2004 04:37:36 PM
Ok, I have to tell the story behind this guy. A few months ago, I ordered a comforter , pillow cases, etc. from a catalog. Then a couple weeks later I was at a local fabric store and they had the same exact fabric of the set I ordered! And it was on clearance!!  How often does that happen? I bought it all and made some matching curtains for our bedroom (instead of buying them for $40 I spent about $10) and had lots of fabric left over. So I made this stuffed monster. This is my first attempt at making any kind of stuffed animal/creature. I didn't use a pattern and I didn't have any stuffing at the time so I cut up an old tshirt and stuffed him with that. I used ribbon for the stripes on his legs and felt, embroidery and glass beads for his face. He has very long arms, but I love him anyway. Here he is:
