1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bag For My Mom. on: March 02, 2009 06:17:13 PM
My mom is going to Florida tomorrow (lucky her, we got at least 8 inches of snow today!), so I made her a bag.  It's the tiny happy shoulder bag and the fabric is from Wal-Mart.  I made a bag for a swap out of the same fabric and she loved it, so I used it for hers as well.  It has a covered button and a pocket on the inside.  Hope you like it, C&C are welcome!

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Grande Revival Flea Market Bag on: January 27, 2009 01:45:50 PM
I am going to start in on this bag this evening, and I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this pattern.  I've read a few reviews, but nothing really extensive...People said they had trouble with the handles, and I was just wondering if this was the case with everyone?  Thanks ahead of time for any help you can give me!
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / How do you install the zipper foot? (Kenmore Mini) on: January 06, 2009 05:12:48 PM
I have a Kenmore Mini Ultra, which has always been good to me...that is until today!  I ordered a zipper foot from Sears and it came in, but I have absolutely no idea how to put it in.  Does anyone have any ideas/advice on where to look for this?  Please let me know!  Thanks ahead of time!
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / one more Charlie bag...not so many pics! on: November 29, 2008 12:05:36 PM
My sister just started selling Avon, and she asked me to make her a bag to carry all of her catalogs around in.  I love the Burda Style Charlie bag pattern, so she picked out the material and here it is:

Then I surprised her and made this little snap pouch (using the easy peasy snap wallet tutorial!) to store her money and whatnot in:

Thanks for looking!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Charlie Bags- sooooo many pics! on: November 29, 2008 11:57:27 AM
I made these for the "Make Me a Reuseable Shopping Bag" swap.  I had to much fun making them.  I made one for my partner, one for her mom, and one for her daughter.  These are all of them together:

I also made a pouch to store each of the bags in:

This is the one for my partner:

This was for her mom:

The buttons have her grandkids initials on them...

This was for her daughter:

Sorry for all of the pictures...I was just excited to finally be able to post the pics.  C&C are much appreciated.
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My new tote on: October 04, 2008 10:40:24 AM
I used Bouncyflea's tutorial, which can be found here:
<a href="http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=149376.0">Butterflies and Fruit Pleated Tote</a>

to make this:

It was really clear and easy to follow and I am relatively new to sewing, and it sewed up very quickly. I made my strap shorter and instead of putting Velcro like she did, I used a magnetic snap.  I also put a pocket on the inside, made of the outer fabric:

Thanks for looking, and I think that everyone should make one of these!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My First Zipper (this is very exciting!) on: September 29, 2008 07:26:48 PM
I would like to preempt these pictures with the fact that I don't have a zipper foot for my machine, and this was my very first zipper.  I kept telling myself that I couldn't do them, that ties, snaps, and buttons were the way to go.  So, I had a zipper, I had some fabric, and I decided to try it out...I think it came out pretty ok:

a shot of the inside (I used the same fabric, next time I will use something different)

(sorry it's a little blurry)

I used the tutorial for the zippered lined pouch on here, which was amazing!

Thanks for looking and any advice to improve in the future is much appreciated!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My First Post on: September 23, 2008 06:42:41 PM
This is my first post, although I have been lurking for quite some time now!  I was going to use this bag as a "practice" bag, but I like it so much I think I'm going to keep it!  I am relatively new at sewing, so this is a big deal for me!  Let me know what you think!

this is the inside of the bag, with my first pocket!

and, I'm still a little afraid of zippers, so I made it a tie closure-
