I have been experimenting with machine felting.  I made myself a folder for my pastel pencils combining felting and crochet.  This is a photo of the outside

I also made myself a pair of slippers - again I crocheted them and then put them in the washing machine.  For some strange reason they turned out different sizes.  They still fit, one foot is just different to the other.  


I started out with a flat crocheted piece, then sewed it up to form slippers.

At this stage they were enormous!  (That is my washing basket it's sitting on!)

I made this set for Christmas, but have procrastinated about posting it here!   It took awhile but was great to do. I have wanted to make a Nativity Scene for ages - I was so pleased with the finished product. The pattern is from Gourmet Crochet.

I added two shepherds to go with the lamb.  These weren't in the pattern, but I made them on the same principle as Joseph.

Here are a few amigurumi I have made recently.


It was Father's Day here in Oz a few weeks ago and I made my husband this little "Super Dad" doll.

I was inspired by Owly's super hero amigurumi (here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=175399.msg1809537#msg1809537), and made up the pattern as I went along.

I made this mermaid last year and she is one of my favourite creations. I based the pattern off a waldorf doll and her felt tail is handmade felt (made by a friend) and her hair is made from mohair wool. She is made from all natural materials except for some of her hair. I made her with the idea of her being a play companion for a little girl. I have since sold her on Ebay. Hope you like her!

Hi everyone, this is the most amazing site!    I have been looking for ages - my daughter has convinced me to finally post.  I am from Australia, and love just about any type of craft.   I have made soft toys, dolls, mermaids etc from natural materials, I knit and crochet, I weave sometimes, I quilt and I am at present teaching myself to draw and use soft pastels.
