1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: flower photos and a Winner! on: April 06, 2009 01:29:01 AM
Congrats!  These are all great. I am learning to use soft pastels - I would love to paint some of your beautiful photos for practice - is this possible.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Purple Grocery Bag of Doom Meets Fat Cat on: August 06, 2008 06:20:35 PM
Great bag, and I loved the pic of your fat cat in it.  Thanks for the instructions - those re-usable bags are uhg.  I've been wanting to do some grocery bags for ages now - maybe one day. Roll Eyes

Thanks everyone for your comments!   :)It did take a while to make, but I was really happy with the finished scene.

These are really good for your first try at amigurumi.  That robot is just too cute.  Making up your own pattern is great and the bunny is lovely. I'm sure that it is treasured!

Thanks for your lovely remarks.  Smiley I really enjoyed making this and felt really happy with how it turned out.  It was a clear pattern and easy to follow.
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crocheted and then felted! on: May 24, 2008 02:43:57 AM
Thanks for your kind remarks.  The yarn is Cleckheaton Vintage Hues - it's an Australian yarn.
I made the slippers in a big mens size and kept checking them as I washed them till they got small enough to fit me.  I have found that machine felting is NOT an exact science - its really hit and miss and hope for the best.  Smiley
I tried making a felted bag and it didn't turn out at all well!
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted and then felted! on: May 23, 2008 10:11:40 PM
I have been experimenting with machine felting.  I made myself a folder for my pastel pencils combining felting and crochet.  This is a photo of the outside

...and the inside.

A close up of the inside crochet, and with pencils

I also made myself a pair of slippers - again I crocheted them and then put them in the washing machine.  For some strange reason they turned out different sizes.  They still fit, one foot is just different to the other. Roll Eyes

I started out with a flat crocheted piece, then sewed it up to form slippers.

At this stage they were enormous!  (That is my washing basket it's sitting on!)

Thanks for looking.   Smiley

8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi Nativity Set on: May 23, 2008 09:39:59 PM
I made this set for Christmas, but have procrastinated about posting it here! Roll Eyes  It took awhile but was great to do. I have wanted to make a Nativity Scene for ages - I was so pleased with the finished product. The pattern is from Gourmet Crochet.

Here is a close up

Another close up - this time the three wise men.

I added two shepherds to go with the lamb.  These weren't in the pattern, but I made them on the same principle as Joseph.

Thanks for having a look - hope you like them.
