I made this for my daughter's guy friend. Its knitted on 10.5/ 16 circulars with black worsted weight for 5 rows then I added green wool for the cc for 3 rows. I did a thumb cast on of 80 stitches and 1x1 ribs all the way up. Its stretchy without being stretched out of shape and a quick knit for instant gratification
It's been a while since I've posted, been sewing but hate up-loading as it always takes forever! Anyway here are a couple of little brown bags I made. I wanted them to be on the small side and they are! The first one is made with brown corduroy and has a matching little make-up bag with it the rings are actually a pair of old earrings!
and the inside of both. I love the blue and brown together its such a pretty combo.
This next one is simular to the previous but I tried to make it a little bit bigger. The fabric is a heavy weight cotton and same blue and brown lining. This one has a zipper pocket on the outside and the inside.
This green purse is one I made a while back and love how it turned out!
Well that's it for now it's back to sewing! Have a good crafting day! ~Candace~
First I know it seems that I like red, but actually it was what I had laying around This first one is from a Simplicity pattern I only had light weight interfacing so it's not as stiff as I'd like it to be but the colors are great!
It has 2 outside pockets on each side, an inside zip and patch pockets and closes w/ a red zipper!
Next is a red cord/ velvet type tote bag, the other fabric is cut from a scarf it was a little on the slippery side! I made this for my mom who reluctantly has to use a wheel chair It has 2 diff. straps one for regular shoulder use and snap on straps for the back of the wheel chair. The colors in person are very vibrant!
Here's a close up of the contrast/ liner fabric
And here's the inside no pockets to fumble with or get in the way!
the last is my first messenger bag. It's made from a black denim, lined in a red cotton print. This baby took a lot of planning- whew! I stitched a leaf detail on the outter flap in red thread! It has 2 side flap pockets, 2 big under flap pockets, a back zipper pocket, an inside zip pocket, and 2 inside on the side pockets- ha all that sounds a little funny I must be tired! On w/ pictures
Close up leaf stitch
Under the flap pockets
And lastly inside shot
So tell me what you think, and happy crafting! ~ Candace
So I've been wanting to TRY making cargo pockets for a while,I kinda just looked at some other bags online and my daughter's old purse and went from there, now I have some design errors that are visible, but I won't point that out Well, here it is
Being modeled by my door, it was hard to get a picture where the whole purse would show. It's made from a heavy cotton almost denim type fabric, I used craft interfacing and it's lined with a white print cotton, the pockets didn't get all the way lined (due to my not planning ahead mental block! LOL!) Closes with a zipper that has a cute little charm Here's maybe a better view on my table looking downward
Here's a picture of the cargo pockets they close with velcro
Here's an inside zip pocket
The other side is a patch pocket w/ a pen holder
I added a key holder but didn't get a picture of that, my daughter claimed this before I even got done which made me happy she liked it- hope you like it too
I made this a little while ago and decided to see if you all liked it too! I made it from this never ending brown suede(luckily there's only a little bit left-Lol!) I haul around a lot of stuff and this is just the perfect size for me. This suede is pretty forgiving and sews nicely and it's pretty sturdy!
Here's a shot of the bag, closes with a zipper- Oh I just drew a pattern- cut- sew! There's a safety pin w/ heart on it just outside the zipper
Inside a zipper pocket, I really like the liner fabric it was given to me a long time ago and I never used it til now
Other side of the inside- there's 2 different size patch pockets and a little tiny piece of Velcro that kinda divides the larger pocket its a little hard to tell
Another shot of inside (tried to get a good pic. Oh well
It's a good size hobo and works for me! Thanks for looking and comments welcome!
So my sister brings me a picture of this new purse she likes and well it seems "doable" to me I went and gave it a try!
It has 2 small zipper pockets on top part and a small flap pocket on the bottom that closes with velcro! It was suppose to measure out at 7x 5 but came out a little bit smaller 6.5x 5 ... here's the main side
Here is the back side- nothing just plain
This is a shot of the flap pocket on the bottom of the bag
I haven't given it to her yet and I hope it meets her standards as she is an experienced seamtress! TY for looking!
I've recently made these 2 bags, first one is a white cord and the other is a brown suede. The white cord is for my niece she likes white- I can't do white w/out it getting dirty but that's me! The brown one is just something I experimented with. Tell me what you think!
White cord purse on outside, red roses on the lining, closes with a zipper and has a outer zip pocket with coordinating liner fabric
Inside one zipper pocket lined with white cord! And key fob b/c she's always losing keys!
Next is the brown purse, this looks almost like a messenger style to me, I like how it turned out but its not really my style
It has a flap and closes with a magnet, 2 patch type pockets under the flap
Inside has pink flower type I used Michael Miller's Crystal flowers anyway I put in a zipper pocket too, I kinda messed up on the lining my brain still has a hard time with planning! lol!
In back I added a large pocket and did some leaf stitching that was on my sewing machine I especially like that!
Thought I would share a checkbook cover I made for my mom, used one of the tute's offered here somewhere. I sewed a pink rose patch on the outside it closes with a sew on snap, I did a little leaf stitching on the tab but it's hard to see I should of used pink thread but didn't think of it at the time inside is pink background and more roses! I wished I had put a pen holder in and made the whole thing with a little more room b/c she puts a lot of stuff in it- oh well next time She loves it and puts it to good use! Here is the outside
I made this purse for my daughter today ( it's pacific time here!), she's been so good to me- helps me out all the time so for my appreciation this is for her! It's blue suede and Micheal Miller for the lining, I used canvas type material for the interfacing to make it sturdy , some embellishing with a key fab and little heart beads on the outside, also there are 2 little pockets on the sides of the bag! On with the pictures
Inside with zip pocket and key fab
Other side with patch pockets
Please let me know what you think? All comments are welcome
