1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: The random soapy babble thread on: November 03, 2010 08:42:57 AM
This is so incredibly random, seeing as how I'm bumping this topic up after a couple months and have been MIA from the site for much longer. Anyway, I recently moved to Ohio, and even I have been questioning myself as to what is in Ohio. Well, I now live within 30-60 minutes of Nature's Garden and Wholesale Supplies Plus! I stopped a lot of soapmaking because shipping was getting really expensive, but now that I can pick these up...GET READY.

This is amazing - I love it! And baby looks so warm Smiley
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: My website's content on: April 29, 2010 01:15:26 PM
^^ Yeah, I completely understand what you're saying there. It's something I took into consideration I'm still kind of struggling to make the connection and make it applicable to the store. I think that right now I'm trying to make it a general feel-good website (with a focus on body image and self-esteem) through the blog and networking, although I'm not sure yet. It's great to actually hear someone else say it though, thanks!

I've updated a lot of the website content, so more insight would be amazing. Smiley
5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Take a look at my photos - should I create a light box for my products? on: April 17, 2010 12:13:21 PM
I don't think a lightbox is absolutely necessary, but like jungrrl said, if you're willing to devote time and money to it then it can only help. Most of your stuff doesn't have TOO much dimensionality to it - do you have access to a scanner? That may also be a cheaper alternative!
6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Post-Apocalyptic Gear - YOUR OPINION? on: April 15, 2010 08:10:11 PM
I think your site has improved considerably since your last post. Great job, good luck!

Do you have Photoshop or something similar? You wouldn't need to work with a lightbox if you have that! Wink
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Alice in Craftster-land 2 Gallery on: April 05, 2010 09:53:12 AM
Those napkins are beautiful!

fluffybaka, I felt a little weird sending a flat rate box via UPS too, but they told me it would be cheaper. I'm fairly sure that's illegal, haha. The dishes -should- be usable and dishwasher safe, although I admit that I completely forgot to test them out! If not, I will totally send you a new set. I'm really  glad everything arrived safely!

Yay!  The tracking number says my package is in my town.  Should be out on the truck tomorrow.  I can't wait!!
I'm having so many different types of package anxiety right now... (You'll know why when you get it!)

WHAT. That's crazy! I think it's mainly because I don't buy wholesale - I'm too broke for that at the moment so I've been making small batches. There's a co-op here that sells local oils in bulk, so that helps a lot! But still, it's definitely not as cheap. I think once I settle down into my actual house and am getting my paychecks again, then I will REALLY start making some soap!
