WOWZERZ!! Those came out SO nice! What a excellent idea! 

I went to my local yarn store and found out that the shop was out of stock of Lamb's Pride Bulky, so instead I purchased 2 skeins of Patons "Decor" www.patonsyarns.com , its a Medium 4. The shop owner told me if i double up the Patons yarn while knitting, it will be the same as using Lamb's Pride Bulky. Would this be true? I just want to make sure before I start.

 By the time I got home, I thought how awkward its going to be (not to mention confusing perhaps) FOR ME to double up the yarn. I wanted to be able to do the beanie the EXACT same way, but now im having to tweak things, and i dont want to make it harder since this will be my first decreasing item to make.

Also, what do you girls think would be a great yarn substitute for this beanie? Any suggestions? I would LOVE to know. Thank you for ALL of your help in advance!

i would like to add: I wish i could wait for the shipment of Lamb's Pride that she orderedd, but she's won't recieve it for another 4 to 6 WEEKS.

This is SOOOOOOO RAD! Im going to have to do this. I have the Kool Aid, now all i need is some yarn... 

I read through the pattern instructions this morning and rewrote everything so nothing was abbreviated, i think it will help me out so i wouldn't get confused while I am knitting it up.    The only thing I'm not so sure about is that fact that I have to sew up the crown part, but when I get there maybe it wont be that bad? 
Now all i have to do is go to the yarn store and pick up the yarn and needles, ill be going with my bf and he's planning on buying it for me as a little treat, and also because he will be there to pick out the "right" colors, i think he's scared that id pick up bright blue or something. im SO excited about doing this. BTW thank you ladies, for joining me!

the colors my bf wants are blue and gray. The same colors that my BROTHER wants for his scarf that I will be making too. what a variety of color...

I thought it would be interesting to start a knitalong for beginners with the "Hot Head" pattern from SnB.  This will be my first decrease project, so im pretty excited! I'll be making this beanie for my boyfriend.
Does anyone want to join?

I'm planning to go to the YS tomorrow to pick up some Lamb's Pride Bulky and 6.5mm knitting needles ( i only have a 5mm, so that wont work, haha),  so hopefully I can start soon.
