1  COOKING / Dessert / Need Help with Chocolate!!! on: December 21, 2008 04:30:20 PM
PLEASE tell me someone's online and paying attention to posts without pictures!!!
I am having trouble with my chocolate being too soft.  I made buckeyes (peanutbutter balls dipped in chocolate) and the chocolate "shells" are a soft gooey mess!  Any suggestions?
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Soup-in-a-jar HELP! on: November 12, 2007 08:58:22 PM
Ok...I've found a dozen or so soup in a jar recipes to give as gifts...Problem?  All of these mixes make a boat load of soup and they take all these extra ingredients.  I'm making these for some elderly single people.  They won't use it if it makes a whole huge pot or if it calls for lots of extra stuff (chopping celery and carrots for example).  I know that I can cut the recipes in half and use smaller jars...any other ingenius ideas?

6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / First ever stenciled onesies--I'm addicted!!! on: November 12, 2007 09:46:51 AM
I'd never done freezer paper stenciling before, and now I'm addicted!

My brother and SIL are expecting their first baby and they aren't going to find out the sex of the little one.  They've decided to do the baby's room and baby shower in a "beach" theme.  These are one of my baby shower gifts to them.  Please tell me what you think.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Teacher Gifts on: November 05, 2007 02:42:18 PM
These are what I'm making for teacher gifts this year.  I made the orange one for myself, but I have done the red one for a teacher.  I have 1 more teacher one to do and would like your input on a design.  I want a clipart to copy, so any links would be very helpful!!!  Please tell me what you think!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / When an idea isn't yours originally on: July 15, 2007 05:25:28 AM
Is it legal to take an idea off something mass marketed and recreate it with your own twist and sell it as yours?   I mean, I know that knock-offs seem to make the world go 'round these days, but is it legal?

Here's the specific situation...the Roman inc. jewelry (scriptural bracelets in particular) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them, but couldn't afford them and had the beads to make a knock off version so I made some and have worn them...now I have people asking me to make some for them (including the poem/scripture card) for a price.  Granted, the price isn't what Roman's is getting, but it's good enough for me.  I know it's probably ok on an individual order type thing, but I want to do it for a craft show or possibly to sell on etsy.  BTW, I have not reproduced the card exactly like the Roman's card...same information, different layout (and of course, my beads and charms are not identical--basically, I just stole the idea...didn't identically reproduce it).

Any feedback is appreciated!!!
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / What's hot? on: June 23, 2007 03:28:46 PM
I'm looking for jewelry ideas for teens.  What's "in" right now.  I can't go the goth route as it's for a Christian charity.  Any ideas?
10  UNITED STATES / Kentucky / Henderson, KY on: June 17, 2007 07:08:57 AM
I thought I'd chance a post here before I went to an Evansville site looking for local crafters.  I'd so love to meet people in Henderson, Union, Webster, Daviess, and any other local counties I can't think of right now.
I am hating the new Wal-mart layout and what they've done with the craft department.  I figure by meeting more people in my area, we'll be able to swap ideas and products and I may not have to spend my money in another state!!!
