11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: My first kanzashi on: January 18, 2010 10:24:22 AM
Thank you all for the nice comments.
The comb is a regular, cheap plastic one, the kind you can buy at fabric stores.

Last summe, after seeing the gorgeous kanzashi in this board, I decided to make my own.  I'd like to make them in silk, but i could't find that fabric in a suitable color, so they are polyester satin and chiffon. All the flowers are mounted on a wire frame and glued to a comb.

The earrings and necklace were a last minute adition, but I think they turned pretty well. I wore them to a wedding and receive a lot of compliments. Unfortunately, none of the photos turned well, so I haven't any action pics Sad

Comments and criticisms are wellcome.

Sorry, I've been in Spain for some days and I didn't check te forum. I received ellemir's packet this morning and it's really AMAZING:

First of all, a zip bag in 10 suit fabric WITH jelly babies:

The inside is soo soft that I'm going to use it to carry my shiny external HD and avoid scratches  Wink.

Second, a K-9 plushie:

he is soft and beautifully embroided, with lots of details. Now I have something to squeeze this Sunday if Waters of Mars is so scary as they say  Grin.

And last, the best of all, MY OWN TARDIS:

which is BIGGER ON THE INSIDE:

This one is SO CLEVER and beautifully done, with embroided details and working light  Shocked. The inside is painted and note the cute console pincushion

Now I have everything I need to sew anywhere in time and space  Grin
Thanks a lot, ellemir

I'm so glad you like them. Specially the plushie, because I've never done one before and turned out much better than I think. It was a lot of fun to make Cheesy. Really, he was sooo cute that I was tempted to keep it to myself  Tongue.
By the way, I'm going to travel to Spain tomorrow so I can't receive the package until next week  Cry.
