1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / t-shirts for my friend's band on: October 25, 2007 03:55:20 PM
I'm in the middle of making 50 ( Shocked) of these, but thought I'd share:

2  UNITED STATES / Massachusetts / Anyone done Craftland (Providence)? on: October 25, 2007 07:10:22 AM
I'm waiting for an email back from them, not sure if the application deadline has passed.

Has anyone participated?  If so, any thoughts or suggestions?  (If the deadline has passed, but others have had good experiences, I will plan for next December.)
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Printing white on black? on: October 24, 2007 04:57:07 AM
Hey all, I'm working on some t-shirts for my friend's hand and I'm not getting the level of opacity I'd like when printing with white ink on black.  I'm using Speedball ink.

Any tips?

(I laid the ink on pretty heavily and even gave the last shirt a couple of extra passes but it's not as opaque as I'd like.)
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Simplicity 6656? on: July 13, 2007 06:39:04 AM
I'm looking for a fun pattern to make something for myself and this looks super cute.

Just wondering if anyone has used it, and how did it go?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My very first properly constructed garment! on: July 10, 2007 05:21:14 AM
I'm so excited about this because everything I've made up until now has been sort of improvised and a tad on the shoddy side.  This time, I took the time to do my homework and make sure everything was done right (okay, the hem has to be redone, but...).

$2.99 bedsheet from Savers.  No pattern.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Sparkly Old Navy tunic ----> toddler minidress on: July 04, 2007 02:53:40 PM
I bought this a couple of summers ago and wore it once... it was sort of shapeless and unflattering, so I decided to see if I could reuse it.

Original

I think the front is a tad dull but it looks quite cute on my DD Cheesy.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Recon: $2 Hanes XL tee to cute toddler dress :D on: July 02, 2007 05:32:49 AM

I actually bought these t-shirts to recon for myself, but after destroying 2 of them, I thought this might work better for now lol.

5 for $10 at AC Moore!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Anthropologie inspired capelet :D on: June 22, 2007 05:48:48 AM
I decided a few months ago that I wanted to learn to knit, and this was one of the first patterns I saw and fell in love with.

Pattern: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=62184.msg588576

I finally decided to try it, and this is what I came up with:

(It was way too early in the morning when this pic was taken lol.)

I did M1T increases in place of the yarn overs, but it's otherwise the same.  Still need to shop for a pin to close.

Now I'm trying to tackle all of the other sweater patterns I collected but was too scared to try lol.
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / zebra bag, take 2 (lots o' pics) on: June 10, 2007 10:05:38 AM
I wanted to make a sturdier version of the zebra bag I posted a day or two ago, so I made another and added some heavy duty interfacing, an extra layer of fabric under the outer fabric, and a zipper pocket (my first one):

I'm going to visit a friend in a few days and wanted to try to fit all my stuff in one bag without bringing a suitcase.  This is was came of it:

It's denim with a cotton lining.  It's also much cuter IRL.

Oh, and this is just fun:
