21  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Feedback on the new Sew Bettie website? on: June 08, 2008 12:38:41 PM
I just made a new off-Etsy website for my business. I'd love your feedback. The link to the shop is http://www.sewbettie.com/. Thanks!

I think Etsy is a really good place to get started. If you have a digital camera or can borrow one and internet access, it is very easy to set up a shop. It is also inexpensive. I use both Etsy and have also set up a shop using big cartel's framework. I  have gotten by with knowing almost no html (and could easily have made both of these sites with no html). Obviously, the more code you know, the more creative you can get with your site.

I just bought a gocco! I freaking love it. I printed Kevin the Monster on wool felt. I'm having a bit of hard time getting a really even ink distribution- maybe because I'm using the screen for paper (instead of the screen for fabric, which I can't find online)?

Yeah! I finally splurged on a gocco. I went with the smaller (and cheaper) B6 to start. It should arrive in the next couple of days. I decided to buy it from papersource.com because there is a retail location a block from my apartment.

Has anybody tried speedball fabric ink on the gocco or will that mess up the gocco?

I've been searching for the fabric so I can order more but it must be out of print.  Cry

Thanks all! I got the fabric from reprodepot - although it was a long time ago so they might not carry it anymore.
