1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Easy Placecards with Tutorial Link on: September 24, 2008 09:48:29 AM
Hi Everyone!  I haven't been here in a while, but since my wedding is only 3 (!!!!) days away I thought I'd show you one of my crafty bits.  Truthfully, there aren't many, so I'm kind of proud of this one.

Full instructions can be found on my blog, http://lindsayluudesigns.blogspot.com/2008/09/tutorial-easy-embellished-place-cards.html

really, you might not need the instructions, they were super easy!

2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / I've missed a few fiber fridays (lots o' pics) on: April 14, 2008 07:32:08 PM
Mostly because I'm too busy/lazy to measure and take pics of what I make.  So I took some tonight and it should only be four photos.

First:purple one is hand dyed merino, two ply worsted, about 90 yards.  The other is black and white mill ends 2 ply worsted and also abt 90 yards

And the greens.  All are two ply, hand dyed merino,  mill ends and merino/silk blend.  I won't bore you with the numbers Smiley

Purples: all of this is hand dyed merino.  one thread plied, one soft singles (the first one I've made that wasn't overspun!), and one two ply

Last: The first three are two ply, the last is 3 ply.  first one is merino/silk and the rest are hand dyed mill ends.

They all have names, ask if you'd like to hear them, I don't have the energy right now.  Thanks for looking!!

3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Fiber Events on: March 13, 2008 11:11:17 PM
http://www.knittersreview.com/upcoming_events.asp

You all probably know about this already, but I just found it.  A great list of fiber related events around the world.  I'm kinda bummed though, the one I wanted to go to (finger lakes, NY) is about 6 days before my wedding, so I probably won't be able to go.   Cry
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / some bouquet making help?? on: February 28, 2008 02:09:38 PM
Does anyone know of any good online resources, showing how to put together a bouquet with silk flowers?  I bought all of my flowers last fall when they were on sale, but I have no clue where to start in arranging them.

thanks in advance, I really love all of you and your wedding tips...
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / tiny paper bags on: February 26, 2008 04:10:39 PM
I'm hoping someone knows what I'm talking about and can help.  I'm looking for tiny paper bags to put candy in for guests at the reception.  Maybe 2 inches wide and 3 inches tall.  Has anyone seen this?  All of the paper stores ones are too big (uline, papermart, etc.)

Maybe someone has a pattern for making them?  I saw someone on flicker made them with fancy papers.

Thanks!!
6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / I bought myself a birthday present!!*** UPDATED with pictures*** on: February 26, 2008 12:16:40 PM
My birthday is next week, and I've been itching to buy a spinning wheel.  So I did.  i ordered a babe production wheel, double treadle.  I can't wait!!!  anyone who has this wheel, I'd love your advice/input.

thanks!

OK, so here it is... and I kinda love it. I put it together in 10 minutes and it's lightweight with a small footprint.  Currently it's set up in my dining room, which is why the lighting is so bad in the pics.

Here is my first 2 ply yarn, hot off the wheel!!

7  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Fun with acid dyes! on: January 28, 2008 12:58:45 PM
I got my dyes from dharma trading, and had to play with them.  The first one is my fave, so many pretty green tones, just bye adding water for the different shades.  The second was supposed to be lighter, but I had a mistake, and too much black got all over everwhere.  I like it anyways.  enjoy!

8  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / my first handspun UPDATED with more pics! on: December 13, 2007 12:43:43 PM
a little blah, but I'm so proud!  Made with a bottom whorl drop spindle:

Here is some more that I did, and plied together.  Fiber from Copper Moose.  16 yards, bulky weight:

9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / can I get some opionions on new design? on: November 16, 2007 06:57:12 AM

These earrings are made of paper, laminated and put on sterling hooks.  They are extremely lightweight and have a lot of movement.  I just don't know if they are worth making a bunch and putting them up for sale.  Your thoughts?
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / my first post to the crochet board!! with pics of FO on: October 15, 2007 04:19:48 PM
