I just got her book the other day, and I played around with some thread plying.  It came out kinda messy, but I like it anyways, it has a lot of texture



I had never heard of spinning with a core thread before reading this, I'm going to have to try that one out as well. 

I actually have something semi-finished and ready for you all to look at!  Last night I made all of the boutonneirs (sp?) for the groomsman and dads (sorry no pics of that), and this morning I went to work on my bridal bouquet.  I've really never done any sort of floral arrangement before, so constructive criticisms are absolutely appreciated.  I may still add some silk oak leaves and other filler (Btw, it's all silk, the wedding isn't until September).




you can't see it in the pictures, but I used a bouquet holder from the craft store with green floral foam in it.  Does anyone know if I can use hot glue on it to keep the flowers in place?  I think for silk I was supposed to use the white foam ones... but I really have no idea.

Very nice yarns so far, I'm especially loving all dressed up. 

I'm excited to post today, I keep missing fiber friday.  I only have one to show you, but my wheel should be arriving any minute, so you'll just have to wait a bit for my next fabulousness. 

about 100 yards, heavy worsted/bulky weight, all wool.  Called "ruby sherbet twist"

My birthday is next week, and I've been itching to buy a spinning wheel.  So I did.  i ordered a babe production wheel, double treadle.  I can't wait!!!  anyone who has this wheel, I'd love your advice/input.

OK, so here it is... and I kinda love it. I put it together in 10 minutes and it's lightweight with a small footprint.  Currently it's set up in my dining room, which is why the lighting is so bad in the pics.

I got my dyes from dharma trading, and had to play with them.  The first one is my fave, so many pretty green tones, just bye adding water for the different shades.  The second was supposed to be lighter, but I had a mistake, and too much black got all over everwhere.  I like it anyways.  enjoy!

As usual, I'm drooling over all the yarns, but this week I actually have one to show!!

This is about 40 yards, made with leftovers from the roving I bought to practice with.  Plied with a rose colored thread.  I'm calling it "early sunset"

These earrings are made of paper, laminated and put on sterling hooks.  They are extremely lightweight and have a lot of movement.  I just don't know if they are worth making a bunch and putting them up for sale.  Your thoughts?
