I've been in Austin for a year now and have still yet to find any crafty friends. I'd love to meet anyone who does any kind of art or craft and just have craft + movie days once in a while and hang out. It'd be nice to make some friends in general. I sew, knit, and do bits and ends of everything really. I'm always open to learning how to do something new. Everything interests me, so let's teach each other new things and help each other stay inspired and crafting!

Also, I'm 19 if it matters.

Recently I bought a book filled with patterns and instructions, its really cute!
The only problem is that most of the patterns have to be enlarged to 120 percent or more..
I don't really want to go pay to use a copy machine every time I want to make something.
Is there some way I can do it at home with photoshop or some other program?

I don't understand.. When you line up the grainline arrow with the fabric should it be going in the direction that the fabric stretches or the way it DOESN'T stretch?

Is stretch thread necessary when sewing jersey?

My clay always gets bubbles at the top when I bake it! How do I prevent this from happening?

I just got a BUNCH of my first batch of jersey fabric. Before I got it I always thought CRAP WHY DON'T I HAVE JERSEY FABRIC!! And thought of millions of things to make with it, but now I can't think of ANYTHING! What is something easy and cute I can make with my new fabric?! ( >-<) I am a bit of a beginner.

How do you join two pieces together? Do you smoosh them together or bake them first and then glue them together?

I bought this skirt awhile ago and I really like the style~
I found this fabric that would look really great in the same style, but I'm not exactly sure how to make it.
Is it basically a circle skirt with a big piece of fabric as a "waistband" or something?
And if it is how would I get the measurement to make the circle skirt or whatever?
