What do you get when you find a DORA checker board on the sidewalk, a random bag of chess pieces at a thrift store, and Marvel/DC heroclix at cons for 25-50 cents a piece?

My very own Marvel vs DC Chess set!













The top of the board, I used pictures that I found online and just basic black cardstock. On the sides of the Dora box, I covered it up with different panels from my extra comics. I modpodge and laminated everything. I don't have pictures of the sides of the box but can post them if people want to see them.

I E6000 the heroclix figures, after I cut them off their base, to the chess pieces. The pawns are left as is.

For DC I used: Scarecrow, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, The Joker, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Raven
For Marvel I used: Elektra, Moonstar, Deadpool, Logan, Jubilee, Pyslocke, Moon Kinght, and Beast.

Now to learn how to play chess!

I made this for a friend for her birthday. She has cats so instead of her using a real teal light, I included a battery one.

I made myself a pair of lightsaber earrings. I don't have a drill so I just wrapped the wire around the base a few times.

I had these pair of converse just sitting around in my closest so I decided to liven them up!



Mod Podge and Glitter mixed in a cup and a bunch of crystals.



I had these shoes for a costume and haven't worn them since. (Do we see a theme here?) I stocked up on dollar comics of Deadpool, took scissors to them, glue them with outdoor mod podge, and once done I sprayed a clear glaze on them.

 

I made this for my friend's birthday. I mod podge Wolverine cut ups from a comic I found onto a flask and then I sprayed a glaze over it because it stayed sticky from the mod podge even after it dried for a few days.

I made this necklace a week ago. I've been seeing them online and figured that I could make my own. I bought the heart on ebay and with some jump rings and a SS chain, presto!

And the awesome part since the heart is 2 pieces and snaps, no clasp was needed!

I think I need more lego items in my life.

Every year I get cards in the mail. I open them, read them, show them to the boyfriend, and then they get lost in the shuffle.

I found this simple idea on marthastewart.com. I took a 14" hoop and glued mini clothes pin around it. I even glitter them with purple glitter. (Who doesn't love glitter!)

Now my cards have a place to hang out and I don't lose any more in the house.

I found the lego keychain at the store in the sale bin. She's my fave character from the Clone Wars and I turned her into a simple necklace. I used a sterling silver chain, and 3 green crystal beads



I made some Admiral Ackbar cufflinks for a friend. I used keychains but I didn't have the proper tools to remove the ring but he liked them anyway and that makes me happy.

What do you get with a print out of a She-ra comic and packing tape?

a clutch wallet.

I printed out two sheets of the comic I found scanned online and placed cardstock in between to make it a little stronger then I covered it up with lots and lots of tape.

I had left over fabric from another project and decided to make a Sailor Moon & Sailor Chibi Moon pillow. I traced a coloring book using fabric markers and bought the pillow filler at the local craft store. I was really limited on colors and what they called flesh did not look like flesh tone once it dried.

I did make the case a little bigger then the actual pillow but I was winging the entire thing.

This is the second thing I have sewed on my sewing machine.
