11  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / bird decorated picture frame with shrinky dink picture on: September 24, 2008 12:03:41 PM
I did this picture frame a while ago.  I painted the frame black and decopauged birds that I cut out of old crochet magazines and some scrapbooking paper.  The bird in the middle is painted on one full sheet of shrinky dink paper.

Comments welcome.  Thanks for looking.
12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Birds are Beautiful Round 3 on: August 24, 2008 10:16:55 AM
I was in Round 2 and had so much fun.  I hope others will want to do this cause I'm really in a birdy mood.

I've never been an organizer but if no one else wants to be one I might be up for it.

13  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / French Squid on: April 29, 2008 06:33:28 PM
this is my first time doing amigurumi.  He has 16 tentacles because I didn't keep count until I got almost all the way around.  his mustache is bigger on one side and his shirt is a little crooked.  But I am still happy with the way he turned out. So far he is unnamed.  I have been calling him Squidy but I think he needs a french name.  Any suggestions?

His Beret is really crooked in this picture.  (I think I need more glue)

Here is another picture so you can see his tentacles dangle.  I also fixed his beret.
14  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / Easy to weave Afghan on: April 28, 2008 11:55:58 AM
A couple of months ago I was visiting my mom and she gave me a huge bag of stuff.  One of the items that was in the bag was this Afghan kit.

She said she gave it to my grandma a long time ago.  My grandma never did anything with it so she gave it back to my mom.  My mom figured that I would like it so she gave it to me rather than throwing it out.

I haven't started on it yet because I'm not sure what color yarn I want to use. (i'm not using the yarn it came with)

Sorry about the crooked scanned picture.

The part that got cut off the bottom was the contents of the kit.
100% Polyester Afghan lace canvas, 17 ozs. of 4 ply dupont acrylic yarn, 5" large eye weaving needle and simplified instructions.

The finished size including fringe is 45 X 65"

Here are some bracelets and earings I made to reduce my bead stash

any comments are welcome.  Thank you.  Cheesy
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cable scarf with die lot mishap on: January 15, 2008 12:17:15 AM
I really liked the pattern the varigated yarn made with the first skein but when I started the second skein I noticed that it was very different than the first.  But the die lot numbers matched, so why do they look so different.

You can see here that the patterns are not the same and the dark brown color isn't the same either.

Action shot.

any comments are welcome.  Thank you.
