1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Fingers for my gloves?? : ] on: December 26, 2009 07:55:16 PM
Hello!

I am making these lovely gloves and am very confused on the pattern instructions to start the 'fingers' section! I was wondering if any of you lovely craftsters could shed some light. Do I continue on the hand part or finish off that section and start a new section, to be joined later? *head spins* thanks!

Here's the website: http://www.woolcrafting.com/crochet-gloves-pattern.html

woohoo : ]
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Input on 'COOL' items for young adults/kids on: December 26, 2009 07:52:41 PM
Hmmm : ] I think that for girls you can NEVER go wrong with a pretty scarf. Maybe in one color with a fairly simple design but long and warm : ] For the boys... a normal hat would be nice I suppose. Or video game themes seem to go over fairly well. I agree, you should ask their favorite shows and such. Little ones would probably like amirigumi? good luck!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / popple sheets=dress? on: July 10, 2007 11:49:34 AM
hi there! guess what? it's my first real creation post type thinger!!!! are you excited? cuz I totally am.

anywho, so I kind of have these old sheets from the 80's with popples on them? yeah, i don;t know what they are, but my older cousin was talking about some sort of stuffed animal thing.

ANYWAYS. I got this really great pattern, if you really care which one it is i'll look at it, but I wanted to make sure I had the sewing talent before i made it out of my purchased fabric. So i made it out of really old sheets =]

hmm, yeah, its kind of wonked up, but perhaps that is because i didnt feel like hand sewing the insides and instead used iron-on hem crap. oh well! tell me what ya'll think.

would it be COMPLETELY insane to base a dress off a great pair of shoes? haha.

if it's not, then does anyone have any ideas? they're off-white crocheted flats with beautiful lighter than navy trim and a bow on the tip. haha tyvm.

8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / turning a strap... without a turnie thingie? on: July 05, 2007 07:55:14 AM
okay soooo im making this dress and duhr it kind of has straps on it, and i totally sewed them, but you kind of have to turn them inside out, which is a tad inconvenient, because i dont have a turner thingie! we had them at skewl, so i know how to use them, buttt

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any ways to turn a strap w/o using a real turner thing? like with a hanger or something? thank you all vehry muchos.

i <3 jumpers. yours is super fab, but you might wanna put big buttons or bows on the bottom of the straps in the front. it looks a bit naked >.<
