1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Scandi Mei Tai and a Simply Sweet Twirly Skirt - IMGs on: February 19, 2008 05:00:10 PM
Wow, I love both projects!!
The carrier looks not only comfy and secure, but what a beautiful fabric choice!!
Love it!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: wee corset dresses (much pics) on: February 19, 2008 04:56:52 PM
Love them all!  Especially the first one with the appliqu.  (I also like her tattooed hands Cheesy).
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: First sewn dress. Brown & flowery. (A bit IMG fat) on: February 19, 2008 04:54:07 PM
Thank you all so much for taking the time to respond to the posting!
Your encouragement makes me want to keep on sewing.
And thanks, too, for the responses about the use of the sturdy fabric (which I wasn't sure about, but I loved the dark brown and the old-fashioned print).  I'm still learning about fabric types, so your knowledge is very much appreciated!!

In response to funda62, I did use a pattern (not quite brave or experienced enough to go without one, yet!)...

It's Simplicity pattern # 4709.  The pattern also includes instructions for a ruffled hat, a pinafore, pantaloons, and panties.
I think a pinafore might be cute...

Thanks again!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Cable Hats, Desert Sunrise and Ponytail on: February 15, 2008 06:53:32 AM
Love them both!
It's awesome that you figured out just where to put the pony tail hole... I keep putting off a pigtail hat for my niece because the position of the pigtail openings intimidates me!

I love the colors and cables, too.
Awesome job!!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / mittens! Green cabled and a fingerless/thumb-less. (Pictures should work, now!) on: February 15, 2008 06:50:09 AM
I see the pics aren't workin.  Huh Another try...

The green cables are for me.
I used Vanna White's yarn for the first time, and it's awesome to work with.

The brown fingerless/thumb-less are for my brother.  He specifically asked for the thumb-less part.
The yarn is a finer wool blend.  I used size 3 DPNs.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / First sewn dress. Brown & flowery. (A bit IMG fat) on: February 14, 2008 04:44:39 PM
I've always knitted and recently my mumma taught me to read a sewing pattern.  (I think 27 is just the right age to learn, don't you?) Smiley
This is my first little dress.
The cotton fabric is a bit stiff for such a little dress (size is 2T), but it's made from remnants my gramma gave me from a stash she's had since I was little.
So, it's sentimental, too.

Sorry the images are big... I haven't resized any of my pics in a while!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Emerald beaded bracelet from magknits on: May 28, 2007 03:09:31 PM
That is really awesome.  I love the colors... I think it looks tough and dainty at the same time.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Scary Dolly *IMG heavy* on: May 28, 2007 03:08:09 PM
I used the colors I had to make this crazy dolly.  So she's ghastly white.  My 23-year-old brother says "she's awesome and scary!" and "I totally want one!"

here's my sweet niece holding her...

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My first ever entrelac: awesome noro scarf on: May 27, 2007 11:04:51 AM
Thanks!!
I think I'll try it very soon, then!  "(I've been a little afraid.  Silly to be afraid of handling yarn!)
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: my neighbor totoro and hello kitty. on: May 27, 2007 12:18:00 AM
