3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / A Cake and a Pin! :D on: July 22, 2008 11:56:25 AM
I've been busy/lazy lately so I haven't posted anything in a great while, but I just finished with a commission that I'm particularly proud of so I just thought I'd share it with everyone. ^_^ Given, it's not as good as some of the stuff that I've seen on here lately, but I'm still happy with the results!

And a size reference for the cake:

The cake itself is about 3" high and 3" at the base.

Secondly, I'm just obsessed with Starbucks and have been a proud employee for a few months now! xD I've also been making these pins non-stop for co-workers and friends, so I just thought I'd share. :3 This is one that I made for myself:

Let me know what you guys think! ^_^

Valentine's Day is coming up and even though some people may believe it to be a consumerist holiday, I absolutely LOVE it.  It's the one day that I can be all lovey-dovey without seeming like a complete nut-job. Cheesy

In any case, I made some things this year for Valentine's that I wanted to share with you all.

First off, here are some teddy bears holding hearts.  They even have little stitchings on them like actual teddy bears... because I wanted to. hehe xD

The only one that no one likes (poor thing) is the green one for some reason so I just stuck it onto my bag for personal use haha. xD Luckily, green is my favorite color! woop!

Then there's the one thing that I can be proud this season, and that's the traditional dozen roses with a box of Valentine's chocolates.  Everything was made by hand, even the box, so it's almost all polymer clay, with the exception of the stems (which are wires) and the tissue papers.

Tell me what you guys think! Cheesy

awesome Cheesy

I don't know why I just skipped over Rings-N-Things.  Does anyone know where to get good gunmetal wire though?

Hey all!

My friends and I have been really obsessed with gunmetal earrings and things that we've seen in the department stores.  Most of them are made from flattened, twisted gunmetal wire and they're too easy to make for me to pay top dollar.  For those of you who use gunmetal, I was wondering what your sources are?  I usually shop at Fire Mountain, but they don't carry gunmetal wires or findings.  I've done internet searches for suppliers, but I wanted your guys' opinions on a good place to buy it with reliable service, shipping, and quality.

Thanks! Cheesy

9  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Polymer Clay in Victoria, Australia? on: September 27, 2007 07:41:13 PM
Hi guys!

I am actually writing this in hopes of helping out someone who is interested in getting into the wonderful world of clay!  Only thing is, she lives in Australia and I am... no where near there, but I'm still trying to get information for her. Smiley She lives in Sale, Victoria and would like to know if any of you wonderful ladies/gentlemen know of stores in the area that carry polymer clay.  I know it's being a little specific, and I've already directed her to the other post regarding clay in Australia (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=60430.0), so if there are any local crafters that are willing to lend a hand in this search, the both of us would be MORE than grateful for you help!

Thanks a bundle for reading~
