1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / American Girl Halter top and Shrug on: April 04, 2009 10:49:29 AM
I had a request from an online friend to knit a hip shirt for her DD's American Doll girl.  I found the measurements of the doll online, but I just hate to give someone something that I haven't tried on the recipient.  I borrowed a doll from an IRL friends and my things fit perfectly.  And I LOVE this doll and need one of my own LOL

Both patterns are in the blog post

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Girl's knitted dress on: October 02, 2008 04:54:35 AM
So simple, it's silly lol

This to me AGES to complete. Not because it's hard, just because I was busy doing other things like shopping for old stuff or playing with toys LOL. So here it is:

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Very Easy Reconstructed Maternity Shirts on: September 11, 2008 07:56:05 AM
Ok, so I'm on baby #4 and let me tell ya, things shift REALLY quick the 4th time around, it actually caught me by surprise and I had no maternity clothes in my closet. I went to the thrift store to look for some but man they are all super ugly, so I decided to just make my own. While I was doing that I decided to create a photo tute to share so that maybe I could inspire other pregnant ladies to do the same.

The tute is here: http://soulfulhuesknits.blogspot.com/2008/09/easy-repurposed-maternity-shirt.html

Here's the prototype:

Then I did a couple more. Blog post about them: http://soulfulhuesknits.blogspot.com/2008/09/couple-more-shirts.html

This one is my favorite so far:

Pants tute coming soon
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / my new kitchy kitchen curtains on: June 01, 2008 09:00:39 AM

I just have to share this! I brought home a couple vintage aprons a few weeks ago and had a great idea to turn them into kitchen curtains! I just cut the straps/ties folded the waist just enough to fit my curtain rod in, sewed it up and POP! I've got some groovy new kitchen curtains!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Long time no knit....toddler cap sleeve shirt on: April 21, 2008 09:32:31 PM

I've been so busy with all my other hobbies that I've neglected my knitting.  I finally finished this today after starting this a month ago!

Here's some more pics...

The pattern is my own, the yarn is my own recycled, hand dyed cotton.  I based the shirt on this pattern that I created a few months ago:  http://soulfulhuesknits.blogspot.com/2008/02/girls-cap-sleeved-spring-top-with.html
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / I'm looking for ideas on what to do with old markers on: April 02, 2008 10:19:01 AM
I've just got TONS of old, dried out markers, what on earth can I make with these?  A box?  A purse?  With a glue gun?  or by weaving then together with twine/yarn?

Any and all ideas are welcome!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Homemade cat house on: March 22, 2008 06:13:53 PM
Or cat "hotel" as my kids call it Wink

i took two kickin' boxes I got at costco for free to haul all our food:

A glue gun, some cool vintage "looking" fabric from my stash and some fleece for the bed part (from my stash) and turned the boxes into this:

It is by no means perfect, but I really like it. I haven't seen the cats use it much yet but I think I might tie some pom poms or something to the doorways to give then something to bat at.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Girl's cap sleeved seamless spring shirt with pattern link on: February 29, 2008 07:44:50 AM
This is just so cute and super simple that I can't keep it to myself any longer LOL

The pattern is written for size 3-5T.  I suck at adding different sizes to my patterns sorry.

This is a super great shirt that layers really well for colder weather.

It's knit in 100% recycled cotton so it breaths really well Smiley

The pattern can be found on my blog here:  http://soulfulhuesknits.blogspot.com/2008/02/girls-cap-sleeved-spring-top-with.html

Thanks for looking!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Seamless top down sweater (for me this time) on: February 21, 2008 05:41:12 AM
I just flew by the seat of my pants with this one.  I'd mastered my kids seamless sweaters, but as I found out, adults are shaped just a bit differently then kids Wink

here's the finished product, which I'm not sure is actually finished.  I might change the neckline to make it lower, or more open.  I feel kinda like a nun in this Wink

I haven't worn it out of the house yet cuz I'm afraid it looks like a silly homemade shirt and that's not what I'm aiming for Wink

Anyway, here she is:

Yarn is recycled cotton Smiley

And you can see day-by-day progress on my blog here:  http://soulfulhuesknits.blogspot.com/2008/01/watch-me-knit-shirt.html

Thanks for lookign everyone, and if you have any suggestion on how to fix the neck, I'd be MORE then happy to hear them!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Kids seamless sweater on: January 05, 2008 12:24:36 PM

I've been thinking about how to do this sweater for a few months now.  This was my 4th try and I finally got it just the way I want it!  My hub even put a post it on it when he got home the night I finished it saying, "awesome work hun, one of your best pieces yet!"  That was huge coming from him who knows squat Wink

Anyway, it's my own design, feedback it much appreciated.

There are more pics and the pattern on my blog:
