22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Apron for Grandma in law on: June 15, 2007 08:49:14 AM
Does anyone think she'll like it? Its for my husbands grandmother.
Its only my second project; my first project was an apron for myself but i never finished it. This one is completed, its not perfect but made with a lot of love.

I embroidered her name into it and everything was sewed by hand except the top strap. It took me a week to make.

25  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Apron - Now what? on: June 06, 2007 10:52:57 AM
This is the fabric i have. However, i dont know if the green or pink would go best?? I plan that this same trimming of the solids will go underneath to support the main fabric. Also should i do the bottom frilly? What type of pockets shall i make? etc etc Suggestions welcomed  Smiley

26  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Dish Soap Apron - CUTE! on: June 06, 2007 08:47:31 AM
Inspired by this wonderful post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=103032.0

I was searching for a pattern/tutorial on a real apron for myself and ran into bethntim's thread, which is completely adorable. So i whipped one up in 30-35 minutes. So easy and so CUTE!

It's not perfect but i plan to perfect it. The fabric i was using is too stiff and it was shredding.

I want to start sewing. Doing things by hand is fun but now its time for an upgrade. Any suggestions on a not so expensive but multifunctional sewing machine?
What do you sew with? Do you like it?

Thanks  Smiley
