1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Little Hexies, little hexies...what do I use you for? on: June 29, 2016 08:30:41 AM
It is lovely.  I have always referred to hexies as the 'dark side' and refused to go there... until I made a pin cushion in a surprise class.  That truly challenged my resistance to the dark side.  I am convinced if I start I too will have bajillions of hexies that are a half a gajillion short of a quilt and thus more UFOs in my closet.  Great job finding a way to make AND use them.

You did a great job on these.  I really like the approach you took on them!

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Figuring out how much to make for a show on: January 09, 2016 01:47:48 PM

I hope the link is OK.  I've been pondering the question of how to figure out how much stock I need to make to take to a show beyond the 'as much as you can make' standard.   I've come up with a couple ways to try and estimate maximum number of sales possible to try and put a cap on the amount needed to take.  I've posted it on my blog.

I haven't done an expo but my understanding is that most people attending are looking for information and freebies.  The crafters I've talked to don't seem to think they are at all worthwhile.  That goes for the baby and wedding ones as well.

Well that is just weird.  Thanks for letting me know.

Finally getting my digitizing mojo back.  This is the test stitch of my latest design, a small bear.  His brothers are going to be bigger and I think that some of them might just insist on wearing a tutu.  There are a few more gents on the way.  I'll post when I get them stitched out.

The Details.  Drawn by me.  Digitized using Stitch Era Design.  Stitched on fleece with fleece applique.  Approximately 5.5 inches tall.

By the way...I can't get any pictures to load using the craftster photo hosting.  It looks like I have some old photo gummed up in processing.

Well shoot.  It shows up in preview.  I'll go start a ticket.

Beautiful! I have stitched that Urban Threads pattern myself and I love how bright and cheery yours is!

I love it too. They have the BEST designs!
