So this is my newest homemade bag. I made it over spring break. Everyone keeps complementing me on it and seem shocked to find out I made it.
I simple cut up an old shirt my neighbor gave me and sewed it up....well, I wish it were that simple. My sewing machine was on the fritz, the thread kept popping out, I lost my scissors plenty of times, and then  the bag didnt want to sew correctly. I forgot to sew the interior pocket in before I sewed the 2 sides of the lining together, so when I sewed it on, it decided it needed to be attached to both sides of the lining...I had to rip it apart, leaving a hole which I simply patched up.
Next, once it was all sewed up, one of the straps didn't sew on completely and the bottom corner of the outside didnt sew either...
so after I fixed it all up:

Ok, so my boyfriend and I arent big fans of icing. For his bday, March 13th, I spent 3 hours in the kitchen making him a pound cake- his favorite. It came out perfect and he loved it.

Ok, so I am wanting to do some new shirts and things but all I've ever don is tye-dye and inkjet. I have a few questions about stains/paints/whatever to use.

1. I want to do some natural ones. Like in art glass we make "tea" using berries,tea, and well anything that produces color when boiled. We then use this mixture to stain the paper so that it gives it a pretty color. We are always warned not to get it on our clothes because it either won't come out or it is a pain to get out. So has anyone ever used something like this to stain fabric with? Any tips?

2. Any things I can use to make my images last longer?

3. Is it easy to freehand an image onto the fabric instead of using a stencil?

4. Are there any techniques you've had experience with that just don't work?

Ok, just a few quick questions. My mom finally bought me some chickpeas the other day. I got them so I could use them in salads but then I wondered about other possibilities. Does anyone have any simple recipes I could use for lunch?
Also- We are going to grow a garden this summer and I want to grow chickpeas. Any tips on that and is it even possible?

I made this bag using an old pillowcase I've had since I was about 8 or so. My great grandmother's friend made the pillowcase before she died. She even hand embroidered the bears. Well, I loved it but I didn't use it and it was too small for any pillows  anyway- only by a few inches. Anyway, my rolling stones tote ripped so I made this one. It took about an hour and a half to make. not counting the time I spent arguing with my sewing machine. I had the buttons and green fabric already. This bag was very easy to make  and I just used the hem from the open end as the strap. (turn it inside out and voila)

So- I had to feed my sister and myself tonight and I felt creative. (Big Surprise) Anywho- my first dish-Rice with steamed carrots and soy sauce didn't work out well. It made much less than I expected it to and was kinda of dry. So it didn't really fill us up. I decided to make something else. So after searching our empty kitchen I came up with minature pizzas:
Ingredients:
*1 small tomato (cherry tomatoes would be great) you wont use a whole tomato more than likely
*jar of pizza sauce. Small
*one single package of mozarella string cheese
*Shredded cheese- if desired
*One large flour tortilla
  -Heat oven to 350 degrees(F)
-lay tortilla flat in a pie pan, put about a tablespoon or so of pizza sauce on top and spread.
-sprinkle on shredded cheese if you are using it ( It is yummy) then slice your string cheese horizontally. Cut the tomato into small bite size pizzas- I did thin triangles.
-disperse mozarella and tomatoes evenly on top of shredded cheese and sauce.
-heat in the oven for about 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
-take out, cut and enjoy.

I didn't think to take a picture because it was so delicous I just gobbled it all down...yummy..needl ess to say- Im not hungry anymore. I think I finally found me a homemade, warm,filling, vegetarian meal.

ok, so lately my gf and I have been having some troubles. Im not really sure what is going on...
but enough of that.
I was thinking of making her something to show her how mch I still care. Trouble- I don't know what and it would have to be kind of discreet, parents don't know...
so any ideas?

 ok so, My boyfriend was born and raised in Wales. His 18th bday is the 13th of March and I just figured out what to get him. Today I realized how much he misses his British desserts. Everytime people come over they bring him things and he loves it. He jokingly said that since I'm such a good cook if I could learn how to make him british cookies he would be incredibly happy. So...I need some recipes for any kind of British cookies.  I have one for Jaffa Cakes because I know he loves those. Any help would be greatly appreciated and he said ANY kind og Brit. Cookies.
