11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / all my knitted items for feburary on: March 01, 2013 02:01:55 PM

i didnt use a pattern for this hat. I started with eight stitches, and did increses until i end up with eighty stitches. I worked even until the hat reached my ears. then i did an inch of two by two ribbing.

I did the same thing as the hat above, but added a little more lenght  and ribbing.

pattern -Nesaiaby Sandra Dehler
yarn- Lion Brand Wool-Ease Solids, Heathers, Twists in natural
needle size - 8, 10
its a pretty easy lace pattern. a quick and fun knit pattern. i might make another

pattern- My Girl Swirled Around The Worldby Denise Dalton
yarn- red heart super saver in purple tones
needle size - 8
the pattern is easy enough but i really didn't like working on these much. the thumb hole is in the middle so they can be flipped to have the ruffle/flare part on top or bottom

pattern- Leftovers Baby Socksby Matthew Hesson-McInnis
yarn- Knit Picks Comfy Fingering Weight in flamingo
needle size- 2

Kayla said not to much pink so of course it makes me want to find all the pink left overs in my stash. but for real I'm going to make stuff in other colors later. these sock were easier and more fun then adult socks

pattern- Shamrock Tamby Brandi Murphy
yarn- Lion Brand Wool-Ease Solids, Heathers, Twists

this pattern wasnt to hard to master. i dont really like the pointy top, im sure that can be fixed. I love this yarn its one of my favorite wool blends

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / pants on: February 08, 2013 04:32:04 PM
I used pattern 2317

I wanted to make something for my boyfriend. last summer a friend and i found this bacon and egg fabric at the thift store. she didnt have enough money to buy it so i did and im going to give her the left overs for her hairbows.

I went with the size medium which is a size 43 hips, his are 40 and the small is 39.this was a mistake it was way to big.

So i went down to the size small. i reduced the waist band 2 1/2. and for my pair i did a 3 inch inseam. His pair he wanted to his knees.

i didnt have enough fabric for the whole thing so i chose gray fabric. the love fabric has glow in the dark words

the pattern for this hat is Star Crossed Slouchy Beret by Natalie Larson . I knit it with Knit Picks Full Circle Worsted in the color tomatillo . nothing much to say about this one

the pattern is Snapdragon flip-tops by Ysolda Teague . Its knit with Knit Picks Swish DK in the color parrot. the pattern didn't say where to start the mitten cap and i knit the first one to low. so i had to make the second one the same way. I also dont like the loop at the top. I left it because someone might like it.

pattern Star Crossed Slouchy Beret by Natalie Larson . knit with Red Heart Super Saver Solids in the color orchid . a friend saw the hat above and wanted one of her own so i made this

pattern Camp Out Fingerless Mitts by tante ehm . knit with Red Heart Super Saver Solids in the color orchid and purple tones . she also wanted matching mitts.

pattern Manly Mitts by Sarah Chilson , knit with red heart super saver. this pattern was made for man hands, and there really big so i think that i will just frog these at some point.

no pattern, yarn left overs i dont remember the names of. I made this hat for myself to fit my hair when its loose.

no pattern, i just used my stitch book. knit with Loops & Threads Impeccable Solids in lavender and rhss. i like to try new stitches.

15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / gifts for baby Na'kiya on: January 22, 2013 10:25:27 AM
my little sister is having a baby. and i like making stuff. so once again i went over board

nursing pads .i used this pattern.i used scraps of fleece, flannel, and cotton
i made 14 of them

quilt pillow I used this pattern

pattern for these mitts

out off all these items this blanket was the worst. my machine keep jamming, and making big piles of thread behind every few flowers. I had to change the needle four times, and the bobbin six times. it took three hours just to get around the whole thing. I had it on the slowest speed because i thought making it faster would cause more issues. but in the end its really pretty to look at.

I might knit some stuff for the baby but right now i think thats a lot of items.
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / projects 1/1-1/12 on: January 14, 2013 04:47:25 PM
I'm not really good about posting. or even explaining my items Im more of a photo dropper.I'm going to work on that. So heres the knit items that i finished for the first half of January.

I made these socks for my friend Jessica's dad. It is kinda a trade she is going to take pictures and update my Etsy page for me.
the yarn is super wash wool because i really don't think a guy is going to hand wash socks. The pattern is Guitar Man Socks by Rebecca Mercier

pattern Mohawk Earflap Hat by Jessamyn Van Den Elzen , the yarn is
Herrschners Whisper Soft  and Lion Brand Vanna's Choice

Pattern same as above plus pieces from a unicorn hat
Yarn vannas choice and a bunch of scraps from other projects

A coworker of mines as me to make him three hats the sock monkey hat (crochet so i guess it can't go here?), the mohawk hat and the unicorn. His daughters and wife loved all the hats. The only issue they had with the unicorn is that they say its too long and looks naughty. So once he can steal it from his daughter Im going to shorten the horn.

Theres no pattern for the hat, cast on 70 stitches or so. Rib for two or three inches, knit until it reaches the top of your head, decrease

Pattern chilly podster

The yarn for the hat and gloves is knit picks chroma, and pattons classic wool

18  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / my little pony is melting on: August 31, 2012 02:44:49 PM

my boyfriend and I love my little pony friendship is magical. So for his birthday i wanted to make him something pony. The week before we went to the triftshop and I picked up a beer mug. At first i wanted to do etching, but i also didnt want to buy new craft stuff just for one thing. So i found the paint that toby used for somthing he made me. I drew out a picture based off one online. and as i began to paint i noticed it said washable paint. so it was not best for the item. but i was already one coat in. i painted three coats. and checked to see how easy it was to wash off, and just a drop made it run. so i found some matte spray paint in my craft items. gave it three coat, and it still was going to run.

I was so upset that i just gave it to my boyfriend early and told him about all of it. he loved it and put it up on a shelf with his other stuff. so im not sure how i feel about how this turned out. I like the look of it but its no longer useful.

20  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / rainbows on: June 11, 2012 05:17:17 AM
Rainbows make me  Cheesy

so my first stabs at yarn dying had to be rainbow. I used kool-aid and a microwave . I used this website . for my first go round i didn't really write anything down or have any plans.I took my hank and twisted it, then made a swirl in my baking pan. flooded the yarn in rainbow colors. I think all the twisting is why i have white spots in the first set. then I did the brown yarn and just poured the rest of the kool-aid into the pan and hoped for good things.

If I can remember i just put one pack of kool-aid per cup and got it as close to the top as i could. which made very light colors. no plans so i just used colors and flavors i had, i also used food dye for the flavors i didn't have.

brown yarn

white yarn

shawl made with the yarn

For my second time i planned i found a sale 15 for 2.00. i wanted to get 30+ packs but my boyfriend was questioning my need for the 15  Roll Eyes

so I used only one cup per color. and i wrote done how i got my shades
for colors red- tropical punch, orange- peach mango and four drops of red, yellow- lemonaid and four drops yellow, green- twenty drops of green and five yellow, blue- blue magic, purple- grape and four drops of blue
i used plastic wrap and the whole counter to lay out my colors carefully.my wrap was not tight so a few colors leaked onto each other while cooking but things happen.

and the scarf i made with it

man i need more white yarn Smiley
thanks for looking.
